Prescription glasses. Hugo Boss.
This is way off topic. Any one know anything about Hugo Boss prescription glasses? I went to shopping for a new pair of prescription glasses first time in 4 or 5 years. I didn't have a clue what to look for or what price range they usually fall in. I went to my local mall and visited couple of glasses stores (Lense Crafter and some others). Their selections and store appearance didn't catch my eyes. Then, I saw this place called Cohen Fashion Optical. I went in and saw a big sign "$100 off of your first pair of glasses." I went in and looked around.
The sales asked me what I was looking for. I told her I needed a new pair of prescription glasses. The pair must be sweat resistance and sporty looking. She recommended Ti but I wasn't too thrilled with it. Then, she handed me a Hugo Boss (in the shop I didn't know what the hell is Hugo Boss). I didn't know what model but it is half rimmed. It has straight legs similar to those found in cycling glasses. I picked that one.
Here is the question. Anyone know what model the frame is? Is $300 (frame and high index lenses) a lot for a pair of prescription glasses? Or for a "designer" frame??? I would never think I actually wear anything "designer."
By-Tor...or the Snow Dog?
I am moving this to FOO, its better suited there...
I don't know what model your frames are, but I've been wearing a pair of Hugo Boss frames for 6-7 years. Mine are model 1506 in black, and they look just like new even after all the years I've worn them. This is the only pair of painted-frame glasses I've ever owned that didn't have the paint wear off over time. When new, they cost $380, including lenses. Money well-spent.
Thanks. I am trying to get over the cost issue, especially items not cycling related. I got to see how this one would stand up from riding/racing in the heat and rain.
