Honestly, if anything anyone can say on an internet forum could sway your choices. Your looking in the wrong place.

I was mostly looking for people who are/were in the military to hear their regrets/storys/opinions on it.

It would just be in the reserves to start.

How old are you and what kind of training do you anticipate getting in the military?

Once you sign on the dotted line, the military owns you..

Remember if it's not in your contract you're not guaranteed it Probably the best thing to do is to try to find people in real life who have been in it or who are in it and talk them.

In my experience, most people who've been in the armed forces don't regret it in hindsight. Sometimes they aren't happy while they're in. At least in the Canadian armed forces you're pretty safe... it's not like Canada's out there invading other countries.

Check the National Post for May 17, 2006. Big article there about how the Canadian Armed Forces is having trouble meeting recruitment goals. Lots of military specialties are understaffed. It may be a good time to get exactly the training you want. In addition, look for increased spending on the military in the future as we have a new, committed to restoring the military, government.

eay guys.. we all look for guidance or opinions in all aspects of our lives.. they are important at times, you dont know just who you will bump into and what kind of experience they have on the subjets.. some of the best advice i have receive about my life did come from total strangers, sometimes the people who are not involved with you have a better impartial look on things.

check out all of your sources and avenues concerning what job or MOS you want.
Remember this , rather war or peace the military is a dangerous occupation.
Your best best is to talk to more than one person that is in or served in the Canadian Armed forces .

No kidding. If the War doesn't kill you marching around makes you lame. I know lots of army people who are half lame/half disabled and never saw a day of action in their entire lives.
