So, on Wed. night, I went to 2 very different events. The first one was B.I.K.E., the film about the black label bike club of New York. While I found it kinda interesting, I thought it was exhausting watching this Tony guy deal with his depression, and his desperate desire to belong to a group. I left thinking that thig guy needs some help, and also that I want to build a tall bike. I mean, how cool is that? The thing I found ironic is that these people shun materialism, consumption, etc., yet they rent a CAR to travel to a black label event. hmm....
So later on that night, I go to the Kokanee/Kona crankworx event, held at Coyotes bar. For anyone who is not familiar w/ coyotes, it's pretty much filled with people who I despise (barstars), who would normally not throw a leg over a bicycle. This place was basically one huge ad for Kokanee beer. However, it was tolerable, because there was some decent dirt jumping, and you got a chance to win stuff with every beer you bought. I just thought that it was so wierd, to come from one type of bicycle related event, to go into one that was pretty much the complete opposite, and the only thing relating the two was bikes. So, just a little observation into the many ways a bike can be a part of your life.
End of story. (Yeah, I know, there is absolutely no reason to write any of this, but oh well...)
