what to do?

i dont know what to do. i have money to spend. i am a bass player. and i have a 35 watt amp to cut through drums, a 50 watt guitar amp, and a 100 watt guitar amp. and it isnt working so i am thinking of getting a half stack. and those arent exactly cheap.

and on the other hand i have my bike which is in dire need of a new fork. and i am thinking of getting into racing and riding alot this summer.

i know this is a biking forum but try not to be biased to the biking option.

Hey you sound like me...

Oh, what to do!?!

Do the half stack (whatever that is). You listed music first. Subconciously you want that more

I am a big fan of both music and bikes so I don't know what to tell you.
In this day and age you might just want to stuff it under your mattress

Seriously, the time to think about it is when you're doing the actual deeds. Go riding, reflect on whether it's getting your rocks off - to what degree and in what way. Then go to a music store, plug your bass into the amp of your hearts desire, turn the volume up to bowel-loosening levels, and emote. Again, what is this doing to you? Do you feel so alive that you want to father a race of maniacs, eventually taking over the world and ruling as a whimsical tyrant? If so, life is telling you something.

Me, I gots to have both amps and bikes. I have bought used and modified in the amps/guitars department. and bought used-but-useable in the bikes department. You simply wouldn't believe how alive I feel.

Good luck on your gear journey.

Going to a bike forum and asking about getting a bike part versus getting something else is like asking an alcoholic if he should buy a drink or save for retirement.

i think that he should go with the music instead of the bikes at the moment, because he does have what he needs to ride right now, its just not in tip top shape, however he does need a new part to continue his journy with music. and any older person you ask who played an instrument then stoped will say they wished they kept going with it. not a big fan of playing instruments and such but id say go for that first, go play some songs at a baseball game with your case open and youll get lots of money to buy a new fork soon enough. just work for it

I always want to take over the world and rule. I just need a plan...

Oh yeah, to the OP - send your money to my 'Supreme Overlord' campaign coffers instead of either.

How about selling one of the smaller amps to help pay for the bike repairs and get the half stacktoo. As a former guitar player, I can understand the need to buy a good amp for playing live.

Nowadays... I'd drop the cash on carbon fiber aero bars for my new bike! LOL

He'll need more money if he goes with Gieco. Geico wanted to charge me 1500 bucks every 6 months compared to my 500 and dropping every 6 months

Good one. He might need to borrow the Hummer to cart the half stack amp around.

he can if he wants, but the hummer is over rated, I got more leg room in my Chrysler and it's just a big truck for a little boy with poor self esteem.. you know that saying about people who drive corvettes, that's my saying for guys who have Hummers.. pretty ironic from someone who has one huh? but that my honest opinion
(thread hijack, possible thread hijack) sorry OP, Ill stay in line and say..hum.. buy a bike!

I take it the hummer was not exactly "your purchase?" But I must say... I did like jumping over hills and dunes with them when I was in the Marines.

And to stay on topic....BUY the amp! Buy the amp!

Yeah, I have the same feeling...I'm torn between bike parts and hi-fi gear.

I want an SACD/DVD-A player soo bad, as well as some high-mass stands, and a nice glass platter turntable, but I need a new fork/stem/bars/cables for my roadbike.

Sucks having to make that decision...but with hurricane season in effect...I know better than to ride my roadie to work...so it will probably go 25% bike 75% audio until I get the bike done.

Invest. Open a mutual-fund account and put as much money as you can into it every paycheck. Retire early because working sucks.

Hope you bought him an amp too. An electric guitar without an amp is like a computer without a monitor.

AN AMP?!?!? Aren't those noisy?

Stacey, you know me better than that. Do you think I'm an idiot?

Don't answer...

Now what's this about a computer monitor?
