Best way to make a salad

Now that its summer for many of us, and our supermarkets are being flooded with locally grown produce, I'd like to know what you use to make a salad.
What kinds of greens, veges, fruits, dressings. Do you rip or chop your greens? Is it the same every time?
Thanks

I get greens already chopped/seperated, whatever, in the bag.
Half baby spinach, half "spring greens".
a few baby carrots
Red bell pepper is nice
Garbonzo beans
Red Onion
A few olives
Maybe some salad toppers (stuff you get in jar) if I'm in the mood.

Fave dressing: Spinach dressing by Gerrard, or Geralds or Gerrand or something like that. Bottle is kind of shaped like a pyramid.
-------------------------

Salad that my cousin gave me recipe for, which is really good too.

Baby Spinach leaves (only)
Chopped Walnuts
Dried Rasberries
Feta cheese crumbles (fat free or low fat if you can find it)
Newman's Own Rasberry Walnut Vinagerette dressing

I just found a salad greens identification chart. Aside from standard things like mushrooms, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc, some nice additions are fennel and dried cranberries. As for dressing, a half-and-half lemon juice and olive oil with a garlic clove crushed into it is my standard.

Ripped greens all the way!

Ditto King Termite, but I make my own vinaigrette dressing. Tastes way better than anything pre-made. You can't beat freshly minced garlic.

Baby spinach, arugula, shaved parmesan, walnuts and viniagrette dressing. Bacon and mushrooms optional, but make it taste more "meaty". Option 2 is to add chopped up anchovies to the dressing.

Cucumbers, red peppers, mango, mint, tomatoes, cinammon, salt & pepper. No dressing needed.

I really only like lettuce or spinach and some tomatoes, maybe mushrooms or carrots if I'm feeling adventureous in my salads. I just don't like those designer salads with walnuts and tangerines, etc everyone makes nowadays.

NO no NO no NO no NO no NO!!!!!!!!!!! ICEBURG LETTACE!

I swear I will come and find you personally if you ever use Iceburg.

Basically for the most part keep it simple. Stay with greens that are darker like Spinach, Romaine (I like the little bit of crunchiness it adds) arugula, spring mix etc.

Walnuts, nice aged cheese, and a simple balsamic vinagarette is a very good all around sald. You can add apples also if you would like...

organic baby greens, red onion, olives, and Paul Newman Olive Oil Vinegarette

I get the greens pre-washed, so if I'm too lazy or busy I can just throw them in a bowl with the dressing.
