Ticket to hell - a message to parents that smoke.

This message is intended for parents who smoke around their children.

I think that parents who smoke around their kids are extremely selfish and evil. Not only do they disregard their own health (not that I care) but they are injuring their children. I have seen newborns with the mother smoking a cig in one hand, while holding the child in the other - pitiful.

I am declaring this to everyone on this forum - my hatred for you is almost unmatched.

I feel sorry for your children. But hoping that you die is almost as bad a punishment as having you smoke around your kids, so I don't wish for you to die.

I only hope that by reading this, you have a change of heart for the sake of your children. They do not deserve to breathe in the cancerous fumes you blow on them for the sake of supporting your disgusting habit.

I would also like to ask the readers of this forum to post something up regarding this topic, hopefully we can help get the message out there to the people who need to hear it.

- Thanks.

You are talking emotionally. Did some happen to you personally?

Ditto, georgiaboy. I think a parent's smoking around children is irresponsible. Hell, I think a parent smoking period is irresponsible. Your child is depending on you. You should think long and hard before doing something with such potentially severe health consequences. But, that said, "hatred" is awfully strong.

threads are meanlingless without pictures...

my icy stares of disbelief finally at least prompted this lady to at least try and blow her smoke up a bit, but it really didn't do any good when they both lit up...

don't hate em' for exposing a baby this age to nasty cigarette smoke, but i feel where the op is coming from to a certain degree

OMFG how did my kids ever survive? How did my brothers and sisters and I survive my parents? How did they and my aunts and uncles survive my grandparents? Hate us all if you will, but we still love you.

Ah I see you are in the 99th percentile when it comes to judging others and jumping to conclusions. I don't smoke. I also don't have children. My father did smoke and he gave it up in the early 60s. Clearly he did not quit because of the dangers of second hand smoke. He quit because he realized that my brother and I would very likely follow in his footsteps.

I get pissed off with stupid hard sells like your because they rarely work and often backfire. Smokers who

+1 on this.

There are plenty of other things that parents do that can be harmful to thier children. My own personal belief is that raising children on the SAD (Standard American Diet) is one of the worst things that a parent can do to thier kids. But I am not going to try to tell them how to live thier lives. That is up to them to decide. Perhaps someday I will have the time and means to help people, but people can really only help themselves. If they choose to live that way, it is thier right.

You will not change anyone through hate and anger. Compasion, love and understanding go a lot further in changing someone. I also agree with you on the problem, but telling them you hate them will not make them stop. They just continue to piss you off further.

+1. There are million things that people do that they could be doing "better" (better being by our definition of what is good for them). It's why we have a hundred and one unneeded warning labels and 2 hundred and two non-existant needed warning labels.

I'm not a parent but I am a smoker and I have NEVER felt okay smoking around kids. Even if their parents smoke in the house with them or in the car I will go outside, sometimes the parents act like I'm being weird or something but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm not going to take my filthy habit and use it to destroy the health of a child, whether they're inoccent children or total terrors all adults should feel it their duty to do what they can to help children grow up as healthy as they can.

Anger is an easy emotion. I like it because it does not require much thought, and its easy to use =)

Lucky for me, my only weapon is this keyboard. lol
