Wikipedia is your friend:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pwned

I find aolese (or leet) very useful in constructing passwords. For security, our passwords at work cannot be words, and we have to change them every three months! Try to remember that!

But if you use leet,

SMITH

becomes:

5/\/\17|-|

Apparently random, more characters, much less likely to be cracked, but still easy to remember.

Shoot, I mark the spines of some of my 3 ring binders at work in leet. Makes them look like some strange computer code to the uninitiated.

The last 'word' that I asked for a definition on BF was 'MILF"

The answers made more sense.

The Basic Guidelines of BikeForums specifically mention this as something to keep to a minumum...

Disruption
Posts which intend to disrupt the topic of conversation or steer the topic away from the focus of the forum and related news. Disruption can include harassment, multiple user profiles, multiple posting of the same post and posting completely off topic messages. Please do your best when it comes to grammar, punctuation and spelling. Excessive use of "AOL'ese" and "hAx0r" talk can be very disruptive so please keep it to a minimum.

What scares me is that this makes perfect sense...and I'm supposed to be too old to be understanding this stuff.

Interesting. I always thought "woot" derived from "WE OWN (the) OTHER TEAM".

Leet begats more leet!

Okay, after staring at this for a while, I'll try to translate from geek-speak to human:

17'5 4 (0mpu73r l4ngu4g3.

It's for computer language.

17 g375 4nn0'/1ng 4f73r 4 wh1l3.

It gets annoying after a while.

Too bad if you can't read this.

Check the "I hate Everybody" thread over in SingleSpeed/Fixie. About 65 pages of mind-numbing ownage, starting with the immortal Nathan Fabian. The most Pwned/Owned image on the planet. Besides Britney Spears.

Nathan Fabian doing the "Natty Fab"

Merton, you still looking for a date?

Maybe this one

Hopefully not this one
