Australian thread moved to foo

Koffee,

For a start, it hasn't been moved, you seem to have deleted it. That's censorship at its worst.

Secondly, you have not given any reasons for your action. Why is this? Has somebody offended you? Who? When?

I know this isn't a democracy, but your actions don't seem to be in the interests of the forum as a whole.

You have also been quick to move or delete any discussion about your own actions. I guess this thread will go the same way.

I don't understand your comment "some posters decided they wanted it closed". I have observed that many posters want all the threads about flandis closed down, or moved to a more appropriate forum, but no action has taken place. Why is this?

They don't like anyone who doesn't respect them because the owner of the forum is from the same country that they are. Does that not get up anyone elses nose?
Respect is earnt, not given because of race or nationality.

Yeah - Hey what gives!!!!

Even thought I haven't posted on the aussie thread - I've been activley "listening" in on it for a while and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't see how anyone would have been offended and I reckon that most people would have enjoyed it!!! There was nothing but harmful banter - cycling and non-cycling!!!

Bring back TAT! Bring back TAT! Bring back TAT! Bring back TAT! Bring back TAT!

Some of us (yes I include myself in this) disagreed with KB over Landis and calling citizens of the USA seppos/yanks and it basically degenerated into a **** fight. Things were said that probably shouldn't have been said, on both sides. so the TAT got bombed.

Why can't we have a Canadian thread. How about a Coloradoan thread. Brits? Afghanistan?

As far as I'm concerned you're not special, you shouldn't get your own, sticky thread to bull**** in. If you want to talk cycling do it in the appropriate forum. If you want to talk abotu other stuff do it in Foo. You shouldn't need your own little club to talk about stuff.

Not that I give a crap, but it struck me as odd that the thread was a sticky in the Road forum since it seemed more shoot the sh*t than info on road cycling.

Foo seems like a reasonable place for it ... not that it's in there though .. I guess at the end of the day, it's Joe's sandbox ...

huh...the only thing that surprises me about 'this thread' is that Koffee has allowed it to continue, I mean it's bordering on 'opinion'.....stuff that Koffee is obviously threatened by....any opinion that differs with her own is obviously to be banned quickly...you asleep koffee?,...anyway. TaT has abandoned this crap forum & it's advertisers (I have personally emailed 3 BF advertisers today indicating that I will never purchase any of their products while they continue to support facism) & moved to cyclingforums.com under the Australia/ NZ forum....we welcome all our NTH AMERICAN readers who have a sense of humour & are as willing to 'give it to us' as we are to hand it out.....on behalf of all our contributors....(cos this thread will get nuked as soon as Koffee wakes up)...thanks for your good humour & fun....those that were offended, tough!....the rest of you are welcome to visit...I'd post a link, but this xenophobic forum/moderator keeps blocking them....google us...at "the thread about nothing"...cheers guys..look forward to hearing from all you seppos with a sense of humour

It's a sad state of affairs when an off topic punch on starts in one thread and another completely different thread gets the chop.
Especially as TAT seemed to be about the most viewed thread on the forums (apart from show your rides)

I think we were like the Big Brother house of bf. Everyone watched it but the govt (as it were) wanted us banned.

As a "Seppo Yank" chiming in here, that name never bothered me! Aussies have always had an irreverent sense of humor and that's just them! By and large to put it in their terms, I've found them to be a right dinkum bunch of cobbers!

+1 I can't figure out why so many threads are made sticky in the first place. For example "The Over 200 Pounds Thread:Clydesdale-O-Rama:" .

Should I wear underwear, riding with clipless pedals are all good topics for sticky threads so hopefully a poster won't start another thread that has a subject that has been discussed a million times.

In any forum I have participated, sticky threads are usually reserved for FAQ type subjects. Not just popular threads. A popular thread will rise to the top anyway.

And there is a point when a thread should just die. Threads tend to get off on strange tangents that have nothing to do with the original subject at which point the thread should be closed and a new one started.

I don't know, I'm not a hick and thus I don't watch Jerry Springer. But I guess you do, Hitchey. I'm pretty sure I've seen you on TV recently as well:

or is this you?

With the exception of AC/DC's music, The Dani/Kylie' bodies, Australian Shepherds (which are technically Basque), the (recent) GTO, and Robbie McEwen - I see little use for your continent.

You know it never fails to amaze me how often forum posters flip out when a thread is trashed. Calling it censorship trampling of their rights etc. Guess what? The only rights on a forum or on line in general are the rights that the forum/site moderators site owner etc give you. "Posting is a privilege not a right" Almost every single forum i have ever been to has this in their rules. I have never even checked the rules here as i assume that the rules here are very similar to other forums. I post using a strict set of forum rules i'm familiar with from other forums. This way I don't have to spend a day reading the rules before posting and tend to stay with in the rules. I have on other forums went by these assumed strict rules and found out they had a rules that were stricter than i had assumed and went by those rules.

In defense of Oz they have the Heeler, the Sydney-Hobart race, build great racing yachts/boats, and invented the Surf-Ski. But then again most ozzies are hopeless landlubbers, and the pro sailors I've drank with are whacked-out party animals to the extreme (and they sound like Kiwis).
