"Wal-Mart has acknowledged that it misunderstood German regulations, shopping habits and tastes"

LOL.

Hopefully that will put them off moving in to other countries.

Didn't Walmart have a similar problem in South America some years back? Was it Brazil? I see from the article they are going back for a second bite at the South American market.

Considering the fact that a good many people on bike forums are wallmart shoppers whether or not they'll admit it, and considering its just Germany, there isn't really much to rejoice about.

Oh you are so wrong my friend, I am rejoicing. I will never shop in a Wal-Mart. Thier business practices border on the criminal, I just wished more peope would shop with a conscience and not try to save a buck instead.

Actually, Wally World is booming in South America, it was Korea they had problems. The Koreans didn't want cheap Asian Sweatshop made junk!

Walmart did close out their Korean stores because they couldn't crack the market due to Korean resistance to their marketing practices. All that tells me is that Koreans have good taste!

Oh I agree with you! (<<Walmart face) ....you don't know me enough yet and my whole Walmart issues. Put it this way, I was on the front page of the newspaper regarding this and am also am "famous" with Walmart's head securtiy..... I am not allowed on any of their properties....

...And what you are referrring to is their practice of "predator pricing". I better stop now. The mods have warned me before about this......

I read yesterday that it had more to do with walmart not be able to compete with Germany's exsisting walmart type stores, and the locations walmart choose weren't the wisest.

And da Germans didn't take well to the greeters to, as well as buying their milk five aisles away from their weedwacker.

I have a feeling this thread will turn into a American culture bashing/Euro teet suckling fest soon

Naaaah, just a Walmart bashing thread!

By the way, Siu, I just didn't want to be percieved as hating Asians, or anyone else! I just find Wally Worlds practices repugnant. If you ever want a real treat, try delivering a truckload to one of their Distribution Centers.....there's a real treat! Suffice it to say that they aren't very driver friendly!

Walmart has run many businesses into oblivion, especially small locally owned ones.
Nice to see the shoe on the other foot for a change!

Where would you ever get the idea that I am even remotely liberal, or racist? I demand satisfaction, Suh! Shall we meet at dawn? Pistols or swords?

I reject pistols or swords and choose a box of dry spaghetti noodles.
Also, dawn is too early. I'm not a morning person.
Can we do this about 8:00PM when it starts to cool off?
We shall meet in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Never took a thought at all that you were hating Asians. Not at all (<<<<Walmart face). I just agree with what you have to say and maybe one day you and I can't rant and rave outside of BF about this. I am very against the policies and practices of this huge company. They are VERY abusive to all those that have made them what they are today. I'd love to do it here but I became so strong about it I was told not to do it again on BF.
