He should put some wings on the scooter too. I'd love a flying scooter, no more traffic jams. Of course, these days, you'd prolly get shot down by the airforce.

That could be the most pointless waste of time I've ever seen. On what public road could you take advantge of that? It could be usefull on a drag strip but on the road its just extra weight to haul around. It would be illegal to drive that car in my state.

I heard that guy on a local radio show. He's a millionair who knows how to have a good time. That car has a regular engine in it as well as the rocket, so its perfectly legal to drive unless you crank on the rocket. Its my kind of hybrid.

What happens when he gets rear ended and the turbine gets driven through the occupants in the front?

I don't see where the JET engine would be illegal to opperate on the street, unless of course you went full afterburner in a traffic jam.

Chrylser toyed with turbojet engines in the 60's well past the prototype stage, I think there were more than a dozen cars made... all street legal.

What would happen to a pedestrian that walked behind that thing when it is on. Even without the afterburner on the heat coming out the back would be incredible. It would be enough to melt the plastic bumpers off most cars these days. There's also the noise issue. I'd imagine that the turbine running would be incredibly loud. It certainly couldn't be registered in Australia as a road going vehicle.

As long as the jet engine is a turbine type, then all should be fine.

I would love to have a smaller turbofan knock-off inside of a Mini....that would be sooooo awesome.

How does he get rear-ended with that?
Either just melt the car coming up behind or fly away... he should take it to a runway just to see what kind of acceleration/speed he can get.

Obviously he isn't commuting in this thing - it's just a show/play car. Also if it can withstand the jet - it can withstand a car hitting it. It might be more dangerous to the car rear-ending him. They could probably ticket him for not having a red flag on the end because it overhangs the rear.

If it doesn't leak oil, isn't air cooled and doesn't make audible valve noise, then it might be a beetle, bit it's not a bug.

There was a short article on that car in an issue of WIRED a short time ago. Pretty cool, if you got loads of money to throw around that is...

How much can that possibly cost anyway? Seems like jet-engines are appearing on just about everything. My favorite is the jet-powered outhouse and fire-truck!
