ARRRRRRhh Ever have one of those days!!!!!!

Work sucked bad today with all kinds of last minute work that the salespeople are demanding to be done.
I make sure all that is completed and ask the big boss if I can leave early and he lets me.

I'm on my way to pay my Electric bill.I have to cross a 6way intersection and then get into a turning lane.
Now after waiting for a bit behind several other cars.I notice I'm not in the turning lane.I look behind me and there's all kinds of cars coming my way in a hurry.

I hit my turn signal, crank the wheel and give it some gas to avoid being blocked in.My exhaust crackles and makes a lot of noise because I have a V8 with glasspacks on an old 78 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup truck.I make it into the turn lane right behind a big tall delivery truck that is blocking my view of the traffic lights.
Every one in the turning lane is moving forward when I catch them, so I go with them. The truck starts across the intersection and I follow him.In the next lane I notice a police car.Now that I'm part of the way into the intersection I notice the light is yellow.
Now I'm half way through and I notice the light turns to red, I get a sinking feeling. Not a couple of seconds later and I hear the police siren going off and the disco lights behind me.That's it, it's ticket time.

He walks up and I notice he looks like Kyle Bush from NASCAR racing.Who I think is a little silver spoon fed punk.I mean skinny, bug eye's, downs syndrome look and all.

We go through the License, proof of insurance bit.
He said the reason I stopped you was that you ran that red light.
I said I didn't mean to and that the truck was blocking my view of the light. When I finally was able to see the light it was yellow and I was already in the intersection.
He said I heard you nail the gas from way back there, you just had to make that light.
I said what you heard was me accelerating from a stop.I was trying to get over a lane to avoid being blocked in because I was in the wrong lane.

He said it doesn't matter. The guy you were following ran the red light and so did you.You may have enterd the intersection but it changed to red while you were still in it.
I'll be right back.

I knew from his attitude I was going to get a ticket.
When he comes back it seems like his attitude has changed a bit.
He seems a little nicer now.
He say's how did your windshield get cracked.
I said my house has a very old and tall black walnut tree that hangs out into the driveway.I parked under it one day. When I came out in the morning my windshield was cracked.

He said well I had to give you a ticket for that, and running the red light. He hands me the ticket.
I notice it say's $242 for failure, and $242 for unsafe.
Do you have any questions about the tickets?

Right now my blood is boiling and I'm speechless.I can hardly contain myself and I say not a word because I know what comes out of my mouth isn't going to do me any good.
He say's ok then have a nice..
Right then for some reason I interrupt him and I say , yea I guess I have something for you.
I tell him that I hope this doesn't upset him or anything BUT...

I think that is a CHICKEN**** ticket.
He say's Excuse me??
Before he has a chance to utter another word I verbally erupt and said, I always see all kinds of people running red lights, and I mean entering the crosswalk when it's red and driving through.I don't know how many times that I have seen that and there has been police right there and they don't do a thing about it.
BUT YOU decide to give me a ticket for something that was a mistake.

Then you give me a ticket for having a cracked windshield on top of it, what a joke.

He said well I'm sorry you feel that way but and gives me a typical response that I'm sure they are conditioned to say.
I can't say what other police do about yellow and red lights but I always give a ticket when I see someone run a red light and that's what you did.As far as the windshield I didn't have a choice there. It's unsafe and it's against the law.
I told him, YEA Riiiight... you did have a choice. You could have given me a verbal warning and instructed me to get it fixed or next time I will get a ticket.
He say's I'm sorry you feel that way, have a good day, then he walks off.

I go home and try to calm myself by laying on the bed for a bit. After a about 2 hours I get up and take a warm shower.I decide to got looking for PC speakers.I go to Best Buy, Circuit City, then I decide to go to Fry's in another town.
I'm on my way and I start to think something is wrong because my truck starts pinging on the freeway. All the gauges are reading normal.
I get to my destination and go in to compare speakers while letting the engine cool down.
I come out empty handed and look under the hood and don't see anything wrong or out of place. I start it and make a turn. The power steering starts to squeel loudly and catch a bit.I've never had any problems with that before.Something doesn't feel right. The truck is now a bit squirely. The back end want's to step out a bit.
I slow down and keep going since I'm almost to my moms house.
I end up spending the night after searching for reviews on PC speakers.

I come out in the morning and the tire is flat.It has a chunk of tread missing.I have to borrow tools from the neighbor to change to my spare that I have never used.
It doesn't fit, wrong bolt pattern.....

What a way to end the day

Now I have to find a tire get it mounted and balanced, look for why the power steering is acting up, and try to figure out why it's pinging.

Power steering fluid might be low. Check for pink fluid under your car, it might be leaking. Very bad to let it go on because you can burn out your power steering box.

Pinging could be low octane, I'd use an octane booster for the next couple of tankfuls of gas.

As for the ticket, I would have taken note where the exact position of your car was duing the light change. Don't know where you are but in Cali, if you are more than halfway, you are cleared. Might have to do with the congestion of traffic here but that is the norm. Half way, clear. Less than half, ticket. At least when I went on patrol, that is what I was taught.

Hope things are better.

thats a crock of sh1t. The red light camera's here only give you a ticket if you cross the stop line after the light has turned red.

Fight the ticket saying you were halfway through the intersection when the light turned yellow and get the windshield fixed. If you show proof of fixing the windshield and tell the judge you were on your way to get it fixed when you were ticketed, the judge might let you slide.

Checked the power steering fluid.Looks good and it's still full.Maybe for some reason the belt is slipping.
God I hope that doesn't mean that anti freeze has leaked from somewhere. My radiator does leak a bit.
Nothing real bad though.I also checked my water level. It was a little low, but not enough to make it run hot and start pinging.Besides, my temp gauge was still reading normal.I'm positive that it wasn't the gas.I filled up on an empty tank, it was the last 1/4. I never had it ping till now.

I wonder if the advance springs in my distributor have lost their tension.I have had that happen before..
Maybe my vacuum advance has given out and created a vacuum leak...
So many things all at once...I just, I just

At least I found a good tire at the wrecking yard today.Had to pay 20 for it, then have it mounted and balanced for 12+ 2 bucks to dispose of the old one.

Maybe the pinging was the tire fragment slapping something? I've had that happen right before a flat where I had pieces of the tire missing!
