At what age did you stop playing drinking games?

I was out with some friends tonight, all in there mid 30's. after the bar closed they went over one friends house to play beer pong. They do it every weekend, they drink untill they pass out around 3 or 4am. I stopped playing drinking games in my mid 20's( I'm 38 ). I'll go out to a bar for a few beers every once in a while now, but drinking at someones house with just a bunch of guys around, every weekend untill early morning hours, just has no appeal to me. It's not like these guys are bums either, they all have college degrees and good jobs. They just never grew out of getting totally hammered every weekend.

while I can't (and don't) party like I used to, I'm totally down with a drinking game or two to start the evening, or in rare cases, end the evening. I'm 34....

never did, not interested... I deal with drunks.. drinking occasionnaly in moderation can be a good laugh but making a game out of something that can kill you or make you a total ass is not my kind of challenge.

I like particular kinds of drinking games -- like watching the nightly Chinese Central TV News broadcast and doing a shot every time they say "Harmonious Society", "New Socialist Countryside", "Development", "8 Honours and 8 Shames", "Innovative", "2008 Olympics", and other favourite Chinese political slogans and buzzwords. I've never actually done this, because you would be totally hammered by the time they got to Premier Wen Jiabao visiting Sichuan pig farmers ten minutes in.

two beers is about the most i'll have now in one sitting. something switched about a year and a half ago and i no longer find being drunk an appealing aspect. i can probably attribute that to increased bike riding.

Grow "out" of drinking games???!!!??? NEVER!

Thing is...if you're good at playing...you don't get drunk. Everyone else does.

No I think we finally started outgrowing drinking games when the kids starting showing up....30ish..

Last time I played any beer pong, it was right before my 22nd birthday. I'm 24 now, and with exception to a little trip to New Orleans, I usually don't drink more than 3-4 beers in a sitting

I don't get it-- you mean you're supposed to stop playing drinking games at some point?

we always played "quarters".... where you try and bounce a quarter into a small glass... and I thought the ones where you would watch a show and everyone would drink when a character said a certain thing were kinda funny.

but now that I think about it, I haven't played one since I was 30 or so.

    I still drink, though.

I never really like drinking-games anyway. Stopped playing those when I was about 20 or so. But I still have fun and drink occasionally.

Let me guess, they drink Bud Light or Miller Lite or some other foul-tasting, diet swill pawned off as beer. Their wives play Bunko and are members of the Junior League. They play golf together, and go on duck hunting trips to Arkansas. Their most in-depth discussions center on sports and they think you are some weirdo for wearing spandex and riding a bike. None of them read or follow what's going on in the world, but they know who's getting voted off Survivor next week. A good stiff drink for them is heavily watered down bourbon with Coca-cola or maybe, if they think they're really sophisticated, Dewars with lots of ice and soda; just like Dad drank.

I haven't played quarters since I taught some freshmen girls how to play back in college.

I did this once while watching the Smurfs movie. They said Smurf a lot. I was 19.

I can see how it would make the official news more interesting.

honestly, I like playing drinking games. flip cup is one of my favorites. guys vs girls is amazing, its one of the few drinking games that girls are decent at for some reason.

but really, my reason for playing is just to meet other people. I generally only know 1-2 people at the parties I go to, but I can quickly make friends if I bring my own 18 pack and head over to the beer pong table and play a few games. Its a lot more effective than standing around a party waiting for someone to talk to you.

Smurfs would be deadly. As for the official news, it wouldn't make it "more" interesting, since it's not interesting in the first place. But it would probably make it fun.

First time I hear someone say "I never" is usually when I go hang out with the smokers on the porch.

As for other games, I like drinking. The actual physical process of drinking and I like the way beer tastes. I have no desire to speed it up. I have no desire to get trashed. The only time I chug a beer is when I see the red and blue disco behind me on my drive home... Just kidding.
