I ate it...

...on the bike today.

I can ride a bike up a hill.
I can ride a bike with no hands.
I cannot, however, do both at the same time.

No broken bones, just deep bruising.

This is not as ridiculous as my other crash this season.

Go ahead, ask me about that one...

It happens, at least you can stay on the trail hell one of my local trails has so many tight turns that i nearly run into a tree every time i am on it. so i just stay on the straight trails, you know bike riding and coffee does not mix man.

I was on a group ride this summer, it was a hot, flat stretch of highway, we're riding along in a paceline. A blackbird on a telephone wire picks out me, dive-bombs the top of my head, and GETS ITS BEAK STUCK IN THE HOLES OF MY HELMET.
So, visual image: bird stuck in helmet, screeching and flapping, rider in helmet screeching and flapping at stuck bird, steers into the shoulder and kisses gravel, bird gets unstuck and flies away.
My friends could not stop laughing for ten minutes.
No broken bones, just gnarly road rash. I declare vengeance on all blackbirds from that day hence.

That bird story is TOTALLY wicked flippin sweet! Um, except the part about you getting hurt. But I'm glad you took one for the team to provide us all with laughter.

If it makes you feel better, I can't ride without hands for more than .26 seconds at a time.

ridin up hill without hands is not a good idea. The more force you have to exert the less safe it becomes to ride without hands. Hence why riding uphill without hands is not a good thing.

You know, I actually found it to be more difficult to ride my road bike no hands than my old MTB w/ slicks. Or at least, I need to go faster to be able to do it.

Road bikes have a shorter wheelbase, less stable seating position (leaning forward), and less stable seat and steer tube angles.
