What kind of cyclist do you WANT to be?

For those of you who are still working on your goals as a cyclist.....What kind of cyclist do you WANT to be?

Crazy Mountain Biker?
Cross-Country tourer?
Super-fast Race diva?
Cyclocross diva?
Triathalon ironman (or woman)?

What is your cycling goal?

Mine is a cross-country tourer? I'd like to do some cross-state and/or cross-country touring one day?

I consider myself an adventure cyclist so my goal is to seek out new and interesting experiences on a bike... new places to go, new things to see. Distances don't matter. Time doesn't matter. It can be a long or short ride. Onroad or offroad. In the city or in the country. Type of bike doesn't matter. It's all about the experience.

Boonen/Hincapie/Hushovd...

I'm a similar build, a couple pounds heavier right now, and need to recover from some injuries...but those guys are the kind of racer I want to be.

I'm pretty happy being a solid B/A- club rider who time trials in the summer and rides in centuries and muli day rides for fun. Throw in an occasional day of MT Biking and I'm a pretty happy camper. I'd like to get back down to 185lbs like I was in 04 & 05 by next spring to help my climbing, but otherwise I'm pretty happy to be riding in general.

deep breath here...
Id like to have more then my friends who took the time to ride with me telling me that Im at the equivalent of a strong B lower A end club rider. I'd like to have the chance to experiment that On my own with a group.
Id like to finally be given the chance to ride in a group and if not, then Id like to be strong enough someday to take my place and show up even if they first thought I didnt belong there.
I want to be in a pack more then I can explain.

I'd like to race. I'm thinking of trying out the Time Trial races next year. Right now it seems 26mph is avarage for that series, so I will need to pick it up some, since the run is just over 9mi, and I can only hold for about 3-4 at 27.

I want to be an amateur version of Michael Rasmussen, except with more meat on my body. And a lot slower. I'd be thrilled with a sustained climbing speed of about 3300 vertical feet per hour. Currently at 2600 vertical feet per hour.

I'd like to log more miles on a bicycle than on motorized transport. Completing an ironman before turning 55 would be nice.

Kind of a mix of what Michigander and khuon said I ride for enjoyment and to get places. I have been known to head out to the store and be gone for several hours and the store is only 1.5 miles away I plan to ride until I am physically unable to ride...then I'm gonna get a trike and keep riding. I have been riding for over 40 years and don't plan to stop now. I have raced in the past, rode Coast to Coast, still tour, still ride MTB for fun...just wanna keep on riding.
