Older than you think

This quote from here http://www.comscore.com/press/release.asp?press=1019 indicates that the population is older than a lot of you think, and getting older yet.

Quote:
An analysis of visitors to MySpace.com shows that as the site has experienced dramatic visitor growth, it has become more popular among older Internet users. The most significant shift has occurred among teens 12-17, who accounted for 24.7 percent of the MySpace audience in August 2005, but today represent a much lower 11.9 percent of the site’s total audience. Conversely, Internet users between the ages of 35-54 now account for 40.6 percent of the MySpace visitor base, an 8.2 percentage point increase during the past year.
http://www.myspace.com/robert_crawford and I am pretty much only keeping a blog of my time here in China. There is very little bicycle stuff.

I saw this one guy on myspace, single, 40+ years old, he had 2300+ "friends", all girls in their mid-teens... It was creepy, at best..

looks like the older generation are catching on to the power of sns - hopefully that will lead to more different jobs and networking categories

With emphasis on myspace and instant messaging.

Well, sometimes people from one age group feel more comfortable around people of another age group. Um - maybe he goes by what age his soul is, and.. not what age he actually is.

Anyone with a crazy huge friends list is using a robot friend request generator and the people that approve those requests generally approve anyone, so they're both fake and thus not hurting anyone.

myspace and AIM are the devil's tools, for sure. Obesity, Type II diabetes,
social isolation, and family dysfunction are not helped.

Actually my social isolation was abated very much by myspace. The ability to be in contact with people I know and thus get a heads up on parties and whatnot is quite helpful. Before myspace I'd see people and they would be like "Holy crap nobodys seen you in ages. Do you have a phone?", basically I'd go to work come home and have no contact with anyone outside that rutine.

I've never been to myspace, and doubt I ever will. Anybody think I am missing much?

My friend encourage me sign up cause a lot of girls from our high school were on there. I signed up, and now I'm friends with countless 18 year olds with web cam's in their rooms (for a fee of course) and a crap load of crappy bands.

Sounds like somebody is desparate to stoke up their friends list.

I deny several bikini girls and friend collectors a day and a couple bands a week.

Myspace sucks. Regardless, I'm on there to stay in touch with a friend or two who insist on using Myspace.
