Weird. I'd never seen the video for that song before.

Apropos of nothing, my cousin was in a band with the guy carrying the cricket bat in the video, and he produced the second solo record by the effeminate, creepy-lookin' dude.

Gahahahaha. Something tells me this is the exact response those guys were looking for.

By the way, look for the original recording by Gloria Jones. Very, very good.

Also the version by Coil is really good (better than Soft Cell's in my opinion), recorded around the same time as the Soft Cell version in support for an AIDS benefit.

All around a really good pop song.

Didn't know about the Gloria Jones version. Not big on the Coil version, but I love the Marylin Manson version.
The creepiness doesn't bother me

could be, I was debating myself about it, but is it a strech? I mean isnt what he is doing and saying towards that little girl?
so we have laws about child porn and have laws againts pedophiles so it made me wonder, shouldnt it be a protection on youtube as well againts those sorts of videos that involve an adult and a child put in the way this video was?
I mean what was your first thought when you saw it? the first word that came to mind was "sick" for a lot of people, so should it be out there?
I dont know... it just made me wonder.
and again, maybe i am stretching it, but I sure thought it was weird and made me wonder if youtube has guidelines and restrictions.

Didn't really even think about that. Sharp observation. Sure fits into Soft Cell's hedonist image they were into at the time.
