(needs to be a multi-select survey)

My major phobia is heights. It's not paralyzing, but things like standing at the edge of a building rooftop is freaky. My dad can't climb a ladder his is so bad. It gets me most acutely when skiing: being on a chairlift will wig me out every now and again. I fight through it because I love to ski too much to stop...

Anyway, real answer:

phobia - an anxiety disorder characterized by extreme and irrational fear of simple things or social situations; "phobic disorder is a general term for all phobias"

There are some things that make me very tense and nervous and some situations I will reasonably avoid, but I can't say I have any extreme and irrational fears of anything.

Actually, we all have fears that are unreasonable, or phobias, but it's only a phobic disorder if it causes so much distress that you have extreme difficulty or no ability to function or work around it.

The only thing I found that I'm almost afraid of is deep water. Anytime I can't see the bottom, I get a little nervous. I wouldn't call it a phobia, though, because it isn't really extreme or irrational as the pup pointed out. I still go swimming in the deep.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself!

I have an irrational fear of burning to death, not that I'm afraid to die... but that's gotta friggin' hurt and I can't stand pain!

Wait til i finish the stalk and close in for the kill. Got the meat hooks sharpened, got a spiked metal ball gag and the eye lid protactors so you will be forced to watch. I will teach you fear and I think the costumes and sound track should make it irrational.

Hmmmm, I don't really think any of those apply to me. Public speaking, maybe. I don't really like having to do any kind of formal speech, acting, or reciting. But I have no problem getting in front of a large group of people and making a complete a$$ out of myself. As long as it's like improv and not some kind of formal speech thing, I'm ok.

Definitely have Chionophobia (Fear of Snow), or atleast a strong dislike of snow!
And lately, Didaskaleinophobia (Fear of Going to School), or again, a strong dislike of going to school!
And maybe some Gynephobia, but that's a given.

The ocean. I am a very good swimmer, used to compete as a matter of fact, but the ocean scares me like nothing else. I'm not sure why, because I don't believe I fear death. The one time I almost choked to death my thoughts were completely of my family and friends. Still though, I find swimming in the ocean to be terrifying.

I also fear big spiders, but only those that are severely poisonus. A friend of mine got bitten by a brown recluse some years ago. Not fun.

I'm afraid of the dark. Seriously. Blind, pitch-black darkness is one of the two things I am afraid of.
The other is really big moving objects. It doesn't matter if they're living creatures or inanimate objects, but stuff like elephants, giraffes, cargo planes, hot air balloons, strip-mining equipment, tower cranes, cruise ships, etc. really freak me out.

You realise that you're standing on top of a chunk of rock that weighs 13,170,556,000,000,000,000,000,000 lbm and is moving at roughly 67,000 mph and you're not even strapped in...

Spiders. Not "any bug"...just spiders. I was bitten by a poisonous spider when I was young and have had an issue with them ever since.

KT, Did ya vote the survey? By the way, I had to limit the categories to 10, so I had to keep them a little broad. Thise commenting in with off the option choices, I'm also running an Excel program, so I can track those ones as well.
