twist of fate.

A police officer got shot last week and died, leaving 2 young kids behind.. turned out the person who killed him was someone he performed CPR on years ago to save his life..
makes you think of those unexplanable twist of faith..

On a lighter side, I was thinking of my little twist of faith, maybe you have some too.

This "friend" of my daughter made her life a living hell, after one year she had the audocity to show up to my house and ask me to buy a raffle ticket from her to help her go on a trip, my response was "absolutly not!" I was angry...
My forgiving daughter ran after her ( withougt me knowing) and gave her 10$ from my purse to purchase one, she put it under my name and never told me. I won 200 dollars.

Years ago someone offered to help me with something. That same somone then proceeded to steal something very valuable from me when I was a teenager. Then they walked into a situation where they needed my help a few years back. They were referred to me by an aquantance. I told them they should have used the money they got from selling the stuff they stole from me more wisely. Then I told them to go "f" themselves and that I was going to help the people who really deserved my help, not their worthless theiving *ss! This person is a total scumbag *sshole who doesn't have a job and lives like a lowlife now. So he got what was coming to him eventually....... Sorry. I'm not usually a vindictive person but the "twist of fate" was just too sweet not to enjoy.

Umm I have one but I don't care to speak about it. Its not the greatest attribute about me. But it is a strange twist of fate. I do believe things happen for a reason.

I don't believe in fate (or faith for that matter ). But I do believe in the human mind's ability to recognize patterns. But, more so, I believe in its desire to create patterns where they don't really exist so that a sense of order can be made from random circumstance.

Sorry to hear this story. I actually think that most things happen randomly. It's our job, as sentient beings, to deal with randomness.

Many years ago when I was an EMT we got a call to transport a gentleman to the hospital. I forget now what the reason was, but I believe it was a routine transport. Later on my partner told me that the guy we transported had been the judge in for his divorce a few years earlier. The only "gotcha" that came out of this was that the guy had to pay the bill for the ambulance.

One of my first calls with that ambulance service was for a newscaster for a local TV station. He wasn't too bad but his Jeep was pretty badly trashed. Fastforward to today...he now is a reporter for Channel 6 in Portland ME. I always smile when I see him, reminds me of "the good old days".

Everybody knows English isn't your first language, nobody holds it against you. Wouldn't you rather know the right way that do it the wrong way forever?

You don't believe in faith? Faith is more than religion. There are many people I have faith in, some right here on BF (because their hearts seem true). Many others I don't have faith in.

Maybe she was actually talking about a twist of faith.

I suppose it all depends on how you define "faith". I define faith as complete trust without condition. To me, that just seems like an extremely bad idea. I do trust people. But, in every case, that trust has been earned and is constantly reassessed depending on that person's actions.

According to Websters faith is "Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthyness of a person, idea or thing." Confident belief is not necessarily without condition.

I try my best KT, and most people around me go with the flow and dont point out every mistakes I make because in the end, it only makes me feel bad that I do still make mistakes.
pointing them out in private is one thing but pointing them out in public does still make me blush and embaress me. I could do it the wrong way my whole life but I know that I try and most people have gotten to understand me and know that this is part of being me.
Just think for a sec if you had to type everything in french, and I would come in pointing out your mistakes everytime ( cause you've done it before)... how would you feel?
I just want to be able to be me... right way or wrong way forever...

Don't worry about it, it's not like your majoring in english. For the most part I get your point, even if there are some grammatical mistakes. Plus I think it's cute as hell when you spell something wrong. Get what I mean?

Okay, good point.

I'll rephrase: I believe unconditional faith is bad.

There are plenty of people who struggle with English as their FIRST language. BDG, you have nothing to be embarrassed about.

Seriously, I applaud anyone who can do it as a second language. I took french for two years and all I remember is that "frere jack" song. Or whatever it's called.
