    Am I old??

This just got me to thinking about the whole drinking thread. I don't go to night clubs anymore. I can't stand the competition between girls and what they wear and how they look.
Also, do the men out there really believe that you will find your soul-mate at a night club??
    This really is an question.
I work with a girl whom is 34 and she is always going to nightclubs/concerts etc. I would just think that this gets old at some point. I mean when your in your 30's the people most likely to go out are in their 20's??

Am I just a snob?? I just think that there are much better ways of meeting someone then heading out to the night club getting all drunk and feeling like crap just to meet a few girls or guys out there.

Now I'm not saying that it can't happened. Cause thats how I met my ex, keyword my ex.

I'd like to hear what you all think.

    I'm 19 and I don't think you're old.

Those people who club hop are caught up in an unhealthy lifestyle. They get drunk, meet people, and usually have one night stands. I think just maybe you've became mature enough to realize that maybe that isn't for you, and you want to be healthy. Plus you have a boyfriend, so why would you need to go to clubs. You don't have to dress like a skank you don't have anything to prove.

    Just my opinion of course.

    Im exactly the same way,
I dont go out, rarely, and find that kind of excitment in other places.
I think you are mature, not old!
I think your friend who is 34 and going out partying to find a soul mate needs some of your wisdom!
you come at a point in your life where you understand what works and doesnt work for you, you've achieve that! ( you old bag! )

You're right, there are much better ways. But to each his/her own I guess.

    No, you are NOT old.
Why isn't 11 pronounced onety one?

IMO...the best way to meet people is to meet them while doing the things you enjoy i.e. cycling, hiking, concerts, etc... I would not expect to meet many "quality" people at a bar or club. Funny that I met my current girlfriend (who is a great girl by the way) online. But I personally wouldn't go to a bar looking for miss right...more like miss right-now.

So basically, I agree with you snowy. But I'm 37 so maybe we are old!

Nah, you've just grown out of that phase. I didn't go to nightclubs to meet my soul-mate, I went to meet drunk, horny girls. After a while, it gets old, you get tired of the hassle and losing your hearing and you just want to do something more chill.

Pheard, for being 19 your pretty smart guy. I'm glad that people your age see the light too.

Thanks everyone. I guess we all want different things in life and I have to remind myself of that too.

Nah, but some we might get laid for the night.

Some clubs can be fun. The classic pickup joints do not make it for me. Perhaps it goes back to when my boss and a subordinate would go to night clubs quite a bit and noticed it was the car you drove and how thick your wallet was that attracted the girls. (It was my boss who made the comment. He had a lot going for him, smart, witty, but wallet was all that was noticed.) Guess that is payback for all the guys who only notice the tits on a girl who is smart, nice and witty.

Final answer from my standpoint. A club is fun now and then, but doing it a lot is a bad sign, no matter what your age.

we all walk life in the ways we choose to. I choose to walk it sober. I choose to stay home with my kids. I choose riding and running over dancing in clubs.
Id rather be an old bag on any day. Works for me!

Nightclubs are for serving as "heat-sinks" for ******bags so they stay out of the bars I like. Bars are for getting drunk and hanging out with friends. Concerts are for listening to music I like. At none of these do I ever expect to meet my "soul mate." That's what orgies are for.

Well I'm sure not everyone my age feels the same way. But I've always been in the belief that if you need to drink to have fun, then your trying to hide your real personality. I don't find that attractive, and wouldn't want any part of it.

Hey, you didn't tell us how old you are. Tell me your age and I'll tell you if you're old
I'm 38, I don't mind going to a sports bar to watch a game and have a few drinks, I can't do the crowded night club thing though. I will occasionally go to a club check out a band. I do think it's sad when you see someone in there 30's or 40's trying to fit in and hook up with the 20 yr olds.

I agree nightclubs and such aren't the place to be looking for "soulmates", but you are making the assumption that people your age are going there for that reason. I know many in our age group who still love to go to clubs....definitely women more than men, but its just because they love to dance. They just go vent a little by shakin' some tushy. It's not about trying to meet people.

I'm 32. But I haven't been to a nightclub, gosh in a few years. Bars yes, like a sports bar kind of thing but even that its been a long while.

The only time I go to night clubs or bars is to watch our local band play. I'm 19, so they wouldn't even let me drink anyway. Sometimes I'm amazed at some of the crazy stuff I do when I'm completely sober.

Those dances from the 1920's don't involve shaking your bootay. Geeze gramps did someone forget to give you your medication?

You're just jealous because you aren't old enough to get in to a night club yet.
