Ladies: Your experience with Depo Provera

My significant other ceased her use of Depo Provera 10 months ago and has yet to resume her, uh.... cycle. Any BF ladies out there experience this? Were you able to resolve it? How? Hormones have not worked as of yet.

Has she seen her doctor?? I personally haven't used birth control pills for over 2 years. I just can't stand that stuff in my body. If I was her I would suggest her talking to her doctor.

Yep, the doc put her on the hormones. She hasn't been back since. 10-12 years of that stuff really can't be good for the plumbing.

Yes, that is exactly why I went off of it. I spoke with my dr and she said it would be okay for me to take a break. Not going back on.
I didn't have any problems though. My cycle started normal and has been normal since. If she is having no cycle that is kinda strange unless she is pregnant. But that doesn't sound like the case. So she should get checked out.

how old is she?
if she went to the doc and she is 40 or older it could just be early sign of menopause.
Just my two cent that maybe it has nothing to do with birth control pills but I have no experience in that department, I don't use it. I don't like to mess around with my body either.

Considering the forum we are posting to, can you tell me exactly what cycle you are talking about ?

She's definitely not pregnant....and let's say she is close to 30 years old.

An ex GF of mine was on it for quite some time, when she got off I think it was close to a year before she had a period again. Her Dr told her it was normal. But I don't know.

OMG Stacey!!!! HA HA HA.

30 is alittle young to start menopause but it is possible. I don't think its that though. She still needs to see the dr. though.

How athletic and fit is she? I had a couple friends who stopped having their periods completely for years when they started bike-racing...

And that too is not very healthy. Yes this is common for women whom are ELITE athletics but its not great.

Yeah, it's your body's way of protecting itself. I think they were down to around 10% body-fat or so, which is way low for women, but they kicked-@ss in the races.
