Sony PS3 - what's all the fuss about?

These guys are going to wait in the cold, overnight, to get their PS3s.

And look at me, I just picked up two of them!

I just got a replacement [silver] PS2. I won't need a PS3 until the next-generation Grand Theft Auto comes out

A couple teraflops for $600 isn't something to sneeze at, even if it takes a year or so for some homebrew stuff.

IMO, its pretty dumb to pay $500 for ANY dedicated game system.
I didn't pay for them, and I don't even play video games.

its the new nintendo console. a little different, a lot cheaper. actually a lot different, theres a motion sensor and your can, say, swing your own golf club(using the controler), or sword fight

I was wondering what the fuss was all about too. Usually, new gaming systems don't have alot of software yet.

The low tonight is somewhere in the 20s. These guys have heaters, but I doubt that's going to help much.

No way under any circumstances that I would pay 1,2 or 4K for a video game console. Even $500 seems too steep.

BUT....I wonder if they (the PS3 fanatics) would say the same thing about my carbon fiber bike. hee hee

I think I'd rather do what Chris Pontius did with the horse than pay that much for a gaming system.

I try to avoid version 1.0.0 (etc.) of any product. Why be a paying beta-tester and have to deal with problems that weren't caught in QA? I'll wait until a revision or patch comes out before I'll purchase a piece of hardware or software.

The Wii is a good idea, but it's made by Nintendo, so you know all the games are going to suck!

I'm really not a console person. Most games are a lot more fun to play on a PC. The only games I like to play on consoles are driving games, but I can just as easily buy a gamepad and play them on my pc.

I'll probably wait 'til the price goes down, or Final Fantasy XIII comes out, whichever's first. PS2 is still putting out amzing games, anyhoo. FFXII just came out on Halloween, and it has really made my grades turn to dung this half of the semester.

200 PS2 games are incompatible with the PS3.

Expat, how did you do it?

Your wife is a cop, she busted a theft ring and "liberated some evidence", you're going to sell them on eBay and retire?
