You gotta be strong.

One of the greatest things that people can do for others is to show them love. Be strong when they need you most. Be a listening shoulder should they need to cry. Support them. Even if they are scared and you are scared, be the rock that they can hang on to when they feel like they are going to fall.

And if they tell you that they are afraid they might not live long, don't leave them. It's very scary for them. It's very lonely when they turn around and there is no one there to hug them when they need it most.

Even when it is hard, you gotta be strong.

For mine I would swim a thousand seas
Walk through glass upon my knees
For a thousand lives such as mine I wouldn’t trade even one days time
For each and every moments breath I breathe there lives a chance I failed to seize
A broken man with broken dreams in a broken land of withered trees
A faltering breeze through browning leaves
Speak of brooks that babble through scattered reeds
Down the hill to the lumber mill goes the weeping tree
For mine I would wait a thousand years
Hide my tears and drown if fears unending
Minds bending
Bends the weeping tree
Through the mill and turned to fill to fill the beds of bushes breeds another race of weeping trees
For mine I would swear a thousand oaths and to the death would I uphold each and every one
The harvest sun
Bakes the weeping tree
I raise my arms towards the heavens
Battered, bruised, shocked and shaken
And the flames they engulf me

Don't neglect yourself either. Be strong for those who need it but find someone who can be strong for you as well. It sounds like you may be going through a tough situation right now. I have been there too in the last few years and know the toll it can take on you mentally and physically. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know if there are specific things I can pray for.

You gotta be strong because some of the other people you thought would be there, won't be. My grandmother is in a nursing home with Alzheimers, and it's difficult to spend time with her, seeing her like she is, especially when she hasn't known your name for quite a long time. I'm there when I can be, because even a short visit brightens her day a little, and sadly, nobody else goes to see her more than once a month.

How easy it is for people to forget the ones they claim that they love.

Some say that it is fear that makes them go away. Fear of what? Fear of not being able to handle seeing a person decline? A person that you have shared part of your life with? Fear of not knowing what to do?

Just loving them is all they need.

I am not one to fear much, i never seen any one decline but i have seen my self decline too many times. I have had: Samonillia posioning, lyme disease and west nile disease to name a few. I understand what you are saying. When i was 1 1/2 years old i had samonilla poisioning, there where no medications for that for my age. I received it from my father, who i have not seen in close to 10 years. Just came back from the army, he eat some steak that was not cooked all the way. He not known for washing his hands, gave me a cookie with the samonilla on his hands. Then the fight of my life began, i was loosing weight quickly. Could not eat and when my mom took me to the hospital they told my mom to call a funeral service. If it was not for her love for me and her dedication to me as a mother i would have been dead for sure.

Wow. Wonderful story, G.J.

That is what I'm talking about. Love is very very powerful. Good to have you with us.

I'm not afraid of death myself but it amazes me how others will be able to walk away so easily from those dying. I don't understand it. If the person who is ill accepts their fate, why can't others around them honour it? It is different than suicide. Allowing death is nature taking its course.

Well the accident that happened on the trail was not a normal thing, the trail itself is quite tame, he just had a freak accident where something went perfectly wrong. But yes I take it as a message that it's pointless for me to get mad at anyone for anything, because at the end of the day all that matters is love
