Second Interview!!!!

Yes, I just checked my email and the employer I interviewed with on Tuesday would like me to come for a second interview. She asked if I could do tomorrow around lunch or Monday morning.

I chose Monday, do you think that will be okay??

Its also very wierd that she didn't just call me. I've never gotten an email for an interview???

Anyhoo, this is great news and I'm super excited!!

I don't find it weird at all. I'm off to a third interview next week, presumably for an in-person offer. I've never talked on the phone with this company -- only email. Anyway Monday sounds fine. Anybody you'd want as an employer understands that short notice is short notice.

Oh and congrats! I hope it works out for you.

Congratulations, snowy! I wouldn't worry about the email thing, nor would I worry about the interview timing. Good luck in your second interview!

The e-mail may have just been a clever way to see how their potential candidate uses technology.

E-mail communication is a big part of many businesses. Unfortunately, many people resort to using improper terms, grammar, etc (only small letters, abbreviations, slang, incorrect spelling to name a few). The company may have been testing to see how long it would take you to even read their e-mail and also want to judge the level of professionalism you would use in your response.

Good for you! Knock them dead - you're in!

Yeah, I can understand that line of thinking. I got an application this week from someone who got the name of our company wrong. I mean, really -- especially considering my email address has the company's name in it!

+1 It is a good sign. It likely means that they've narrowed it down to only a few people and YOU are one of them.

The contact by email is becoming more and more standard by the recruiter types. Frankly I like it better. It's preferable to getting a call in the middle of a meeting at your CURRENT job.

Yep, I couldn't sleep at all lastnight. So Monday is better. She sent the email to me at 4:20pm yesterday, I know, I know what some of you are thinking about the time. I didn't check my email until 9pm.

I kept the email short and sweet, I just said thank you for the opportunity, and since it was short notice Monday would work best for me.

Okay so we set up second interview for Monday at 10:30am.

She gave me the attorney's name that I would be working for and his two other paralegals that I am interviewing with on Monday.

So I will have to do my research this weekend about the attorney.

Thanks for all the well wishes!!

Actually, it scared me at first because at first glance it looked like a pain in the butt here at work.

Chevy Chase is cool, though.

Ha. Make the bastids wait.
1. Do not accept an offer on the spot, although it's ok to say that you're really happy about it
2. Do not accept any offer period if they pressure you to accept on the spot
3. It's okay to counter offer if there's some minor tweak that would make you happy
