Pictures from my trip to the Rocky Mountains.

So, this fall I went on a hiking trip in the Rocky Mountains.

The goal was to hike in and leave no trace that we were there, and we were successfull for the most part. We had to pack our tents/food/everything. I went in with a 80lb pack, and left with a bunch of crappy pictures, which I will share with you now.

All I had was a disposable camera, and a old scanner to get the pictures on the computer. If you want me to try and get one of the pictures clearer, let me know the filename and i'll try my best.

The pics are in no order.

You will at some point if you want to badly enough. It's not that expensive to travel by bike, for example!

Understood, but there is a Mountain bike route along the Continental Divide that goes through very similar terrain from Banff going south. The Continental Divide race runs along it.

Very cool man. I went hunting with my Uncles this year in Alaska, thru Artic Valley. This was my first year I could carry a tag myself.

It really sucks when you have to come home to the city. Makes apreciate the world and animals a bit more.

Mmmmm absolutely gorgeous. It's really quite hard to take a bad pic of scenery like that. I love the contrast between the fall yellows and the deep dark greens.

To give you an idea or how far we went, we climbed this on the same day I took the picture. I called it 'Thumbs up mountian' because it looks like a giant thumbs up. We climbed about 10feet up the vertical part and got a picture of the group. I still have some other pictures I need to get from the leader.

I think the day we went up Thumb mountian we hiked 34km or so.

Compare that to another group that went, and only traveled 36km altogether.

Food, tent, rain gear, snow gear, toiletries, cooking gear etc.

Plus I brought a rucksack from the gulf war, so it wasnt exactly light to start out with.
