Sometimes work just sucks....adventures in research

Today started out a little on the lousy side as I had to actually go in on the weekend after putting lots of time in for the week. today was to be an hour or so to cast blood vessels shipped in for another institution. But went down hill fast as we realized on of the animals in our facility was going in to preterm labor not a good thing when they are only 2/3 of the way though gestation. long story short this meant we had to put her down without getting all the data we were suppose too. All we could salvage from the experiment was to pull the fetus for measurements and we'll have to see what the blood work that we have been taking shows. RIP after 10days in the lab.

That seem bad enough but the boss also had to tell the undergrad who'd been helping out that we had just put down her "favorite" one from the group we have in right know. To see her reaction was harder for me then dealing with the animal. I guess this just means I am still human but it make for a lousy day.

Needless to say this whole morning meant I got to my parent an hour late for my day with my kids.

Kids were great, my 3yr old Quin was adorable he followed me around and crawled all over me was a nice distraction from my morning at work. Thing is I didn't think this would bother me until I got home and started to spend time by myself.

That's sometimes the best time to feel all that rips. Unfortunately.
