I'm eating some right now. I like it without any topping.

Chili, crowned with cheese, a little chopped onion and some chopped jalapeņos. Eat it with a fork.

To spread on cornbread, honey-butter.

Plain, but if it's gonna have topping...it will be butter or spread.

Yeah. Both is the best. If I had to choose just one, it would be butter.

+1 for both. Either is good, both is betta.

It also makes an excellent substrate for the aforementioned chilli & cheese combinations.

Both this both that, I say one or the other. I cooked up some cornbread on christmas, and I couldn't decide which topping I liked better. I guees honey because it's good with good plain cornbread and it takes away some bad spicyness from something like jalepeno cornbread.

I like cornbread w/ butter and maple syrup.

Of course, chili isn't complete without cornbread on the side. Come to think of it, that would be a fantastic 6-way chili: chili, pasta, beans, onions, cheese and cornbread

Only really like a nice Mexican style moist cornbread with actual kernels of corn in it. And with no topping.
