amazing flying moose

They were laying new power cables. They were strung on the ground for miles. The moose are rutting right now and very agitated. He was thrashing around and got his antlers stuck. When the men (miles away) pulled the lines up with their big equipment, he went too. They couldn't get the lines right and went searching for the problem. He was still alive when they lowered him, but he had to be shot later because he was in distress. He was a huge 60 inch bull."

Well... close.

This "story" is over 2 years old. Basically true with a couple of detail errors.

You can read about it at Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/poormoose.asp

most stories on the net are recirculated often, i just read a story about a deer that got stuck in a swing and they used a tazer to shock it to help it get unstuck, that worked

In my defense, some people were not aware of this event. Everything about it is accurate except for the reason for putting the moose down, and I'm sure most would agree it is a pretty amazing picture and story. Like I said, sorry I posted an "old" story but this is foo after all. At least it wasn't some photoshopped fake.

In the future I will use snopes though. Thanks for the advice. One thing I should remember is all the folks around here are pretty well in touch with everything that happens on the net, unlike the folks I deal with in everyday life.

Well maybe that's because the folks you deal with in everyday life actually have a life (away from the computer that is!)

Absolutely. They don't know what they're missing though. At least we can tell ourselves that.
