FAFSA form confirmation email

I just filled out the FAFSA form, got a "congrats for making it through this craphole, you will get an email with a confirmation # and instructions to get the SAR and other goodies". It's been 10 minutes or so and no email. Is this going to take a little while?

FAFSA will take a MINIMUM of four hrs and sometimes the next day even. Just went through the process myself.....again!

Yup.

I also had to fill out the CSS profile, brought to us by our good friends at Collegeboard. A company that knows how to make money

Back in my day, we didn't get an email with a confirmation number when we applied for financial assistance, so there!

I did have the option to do it all on paper, but it would take a few weeks. I am already behind a couple days on this, so want to get it done ASAP.

PC, make sure you print and keep a file on ALL your financial aid stuff. It's important for the paper trail if anything screws up as well as a record of obligations if loans are involved.

FASFA usually takes a day or two to confirm by email. Make a copy of the complted form for your records.

Financial aid is my friend!

I did my FASFA back in the first week of January. It's never too early to start begging for money!

I had a problem with FAFSA and DoE emails going to my spam folder, I had to add the address to my contacts so it would go in to my regular inbox. I waited for days to get a PIN that had been sitting in my spam box since shortly after I had submited the request.

Financial aid? Darn little of it when I went to college and now we make too much for my daughter to get any. At least the school awarded her a 50% academic scholarship
