The whole world is against me.

So during the last two months we've had occasional nice weather when I'm at work but the weekends always get crappy. It's supposed to be relatively pleasent (above freezing) this weekend and I've been excited all week to take the 1980 Trek 738 I finished a month ago out for it's maiden voyage.

Exhibit A

I've also been itching to take the Bianchi Project-7 out for it's maiden voyage too. I finished it about a week after all the snow hit.

Exhibit B

There's also a snazzy '85 Cannondale SR500 that I finished a couple weeks ago and which could use a few miles. But no, fate has once again blown chunks on my down comforter. I managed to pull a quad yesterday at work and so if I take anything out I won't be able to go fast, lest I fall down crying and am mercilessly made fun of by eight-year-old girls. Crap, what's next? Zombies coming over to borrow a cup of sugar and eating my brain? CHUDs climbing out of my toilet? Hippies?!?

Anybody got a spare leg I can borrow?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Give me 50 degrees outside, and you can use one of my legs for a week.

Oooh! Another person who doesn't hate old Treks! I'd say 'show me yours, I'll show you mine' but it would appear that I don't need reciprocation to go exposing mysel... er... my bikes.

Thanks Vega. I'm working on a website where I'll enshrine my collection... but I'm sure nobody wants to see that . In an ironic turn of events I'm considering just letting this thread die since it almost made my life worse . Gak! I should shut-up while I'm ahead.

See cycle17 with regard to creating a bike shrine.

Siu: The website's not quite up yet. I'm almost finished writing everything up and I think I found a decent free host (?) so it should be up tomorrow. Now I just need to find somebody to host the 2.5GB of catalogues I've collected.

Vega: Does cycle17 have a website? It's not listed in his profile and I'm all about staring at cool bikes (even if they ARE new ones. Pffft! ).

You obviously have a serious case of both Amnesia and High on one's horse.
