Of course, there are good days and bad days, but it can be tough sometimes -- she's always been such a wonderful, strong person, and to see her having real difficulty remembering people close to her is very sad.

When I graduated from university in 2004, I stopped by her home for a few days -- even then (at 98!) she was still living in the same house my dad and his older sister had been born in! It was a wonderful visit -- she was in a great mood and told me all about her trips to the UK, India, Hong Kong, and Japan in the 50s, and about working in a mobile clinic in Northern Alberta in the 30s. I'm so glad I made that visit, but wish I had done more like it while in university.

Glad you liked the photos -- that was the first time in perhaps 15 years or more that we managed to get the whole family together for a picture. I always like visiting my dad's hometown, but this trip was particularly great.

Edit: How do you know Agassi wasn't jacking up his sleeve la VV?
Thanks for sharing that, gbcb. My gm can hardly speak over the phone anymore, and it's difficult to understand her in person, too. <sigh> Nice that you had the chance to hear her stories. You must pass them down, you know....

Re Agassi. Where do you think he learned that? <serious Vega look>

Ummm. Sleeping would be ok, as long as you're, um, covered. You know. For those who have to look at the photos while actually working.

How come there's no <rolling eyes while biting half the lower lip emoticon>? Day-um. <serious Vega look>

Nice, Siu -- I like the plate . I'll order a two-four (i.e. a case) of beer for the first Fooster to actually go out and get that as their official plate.

liv rong, I used to smoke, too. And I loved it.

Looks like you are having way too much fun in your life to have to cut it short by age 50. Stop that smokin' shiat, bro'. I used to love it, too, but realized one morning when I awoke with lungs feeling that they were full of water that I should quit. And I was already 25!

Hope I didn't wait too long, as I'd already smoked probably 20+ pack-years.... Jes' saying, 'cuz I loves me my Foo'ers. I does. Don't think otherwise! Dammit.

Just check it, if that's all ya do, mmkay? Save Your Lungs . Please? <most charming Vega look>

mmkay. I have to transfer the car title to my name, and my license plate is up for renov this year. Maybe I'll just pull the trigger on a vanity plate. So, can I choose the beer? <serious Vega look>

I can't post pictures as my hobbies are grotesque and illegal. Among other things they include, narcoleptic chess, puppy bowling, and crossword puzzles.

shhhhhhh BDG, I have an image to keep up for my peers, namely SaabFan and Explody Pup. If they knew I enjoyed playing with my kids at the park, they would laugh me out of the cemetary at the next swap meet.
