Racing in the 06 Pacific Cup to Hawaii last July. Every couple of days I would get on the radio or satphone and see if anyone knew what was happening in the TdF.

If she was trying to hurt me, I definitely could have been knocked down by that kick. She's got some crazy speed man, you have to see it to understand..

    Hobbies I enjoy most:

    1. Eating
    2. Sleeping
    3. Pooping

Not necessarily always in that order.

    P.s.- I didn't think pics were necessary.

Siu, nothing wrong with that kick, sistuh. I see the good heel placement.

Taerom, now I want to go snowboarding. I was a skateboarder waaaay back in the day (um, over 30 years ago). Think I could pick it up this late? <hopeful but chicken Vega look>

gbcb, beautiful family. Brought me to tears. Is your grandma still living? She must have been so proud of you that day. That is such a beautiful pic. Thanks for sharing. My paternal gm (last gp living) turns 96 in June.

Here is Vega, pursuing her other passion: tennis. Granted it's circa late summer/early fall 2001, I still pretty much look the same. I remember distinctly when this photo was made. I was preparing for my second serve, and had already jacked up my right sleeve la Agassi, when I stopped to smile for my beloved photographer. And, no, I did not footfault.

Wow, that's quite an angle you have there, especially for a second serve. Might you be planning to force your opponent to play wide?

Thanks, VV. Yes, my grandma's still around, but it's been very hard to talk to her on the phone for some time now. Of course, there are good days and bad days, but it can be tough sometimes -- she's always been such a wonderful, strong person, and to see her having real difficulty remembering people close to her is very sad.

When I graduated from university in 2004, I stopped by her home for a few days -- even then (at 98!) she was still living in the same house my dad and his older sister had been born in! It was a wonderful visit -- she was in a great mood and told me all about her trips to the UK, India, Hong Kong, and Japan in the 50s, and about working in a mobile clinic in Northern Alberta in the 30s. I'm so glad I made that visit, but wish I had done more like it while in university.

Glad you liked the photos -- that was the first time in perhaps 15 years or more that we managed to get the whole family together for a picture. I always like visiting my dad's hometown, but this trip was particularly great.

Edit: How do you know Agassi wasn't jacking up his sleeve la VV?

Hadn't set up yet. The photographer had an amazing way of completely distracting me from whatever I was about to do, and gettin' me to smile about it.
