hey there, welcome to foo fooo fooooooo foooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I have two friends (they are brother) that live in Malaysia. We went to college together years ago. Kuching?? Is that the name of the place they live? I can't remember. Why am I asking you? You don't know them.
yeah, the good old days, me teaching them how to cuss in english, them *trying* to teach me Malay... about the only thing I can remember is, and I'm probably spelling it wrong, kudabalong? (zebra) and the phrase "lost in la la land" or was it "lolot"?? My mind isn't what is used to be. Where am I? What am I doing here?
I need a smoke!

Just because I'm German doesn't mean I speak it all to fluently.

I know just _barely_ enough to stumble me through some basic sentences, and I cant type it or pronounce it.

mmkay. That must really be annoying to ya, wtp, to get pissed and speak suth'un with a smite bit of German mixed in. <Vega chuckle, which is a GOOD thing>

"Ausgezeichnet" is "outstanding."

"ei" is always pronounces ad "I"
"ch" is a mixture of English "ch" and "sh" only a little more emphasis and harder

Not bad, CeC. You should teach German!

[Oooh. "Here's A Quarter, Call Someone Who Cares" just came on the radio. ]

Oh, yeah, to answer your question, baybuh.: Vega is from a small town near Charlotte, NC. But that doesn't mean so much in light of my experience in life and travel since I left there, went to university, and traveled the world, in many ways.

Again, welcome to FOO. Here, it's all good. Just wait 'til other Foo'ers see this thread in the morning.

I doubt I could teach it on paper.
I picked it up from people I knew. And all I know is what I picked up from them.
It was strange really, I had two friends from different parts of Germany and they spoke what seemed to me to be two different languages. Kinda like the southern US states vs the northern as far as drawl and dialect goes... was quite interesting.
I can cary a conversation on in German with someone else, but when it comes to writing it, oh hell no.

No, I live in Shanghai, but visit my parents in Singapore occasionally. As for Laksa, I'm glad you don't like it -- that leaves more for me!
