I Hate Winter**rant**

We have a storm predicted for tomorrow.....16" of snow possible, and strong winds! AAAAAARGH! This sucks!

I'll be happy when spring gets here and I can get off the gerbil wheel!

Happily ridin' my gerbil wheel. Challenging myself every night in the 53-16. Unfortunately, I can only go up to 53-14.

Any good suggestions, besides crankin' the tension, or doin' my current intervals?

Intervals, sprint, then cooldown. best thing I can suggest!

this past week was the start of my winter frustration. i always get worn out at some point during the winter...this time is was a bit later than usual. however, a solid week of below freezing temps really takes it's toll. we're supposed to get some snow this week as well.

16 inches. AAAAAAh haahahahahahahahahahah! (Pardon my outburst!)

16 inches. Heh. That's barely over a foot. About a 45 minutes' drive north of here, up on the Tug Hill Plateau, some towns have seen 130+ inches in the last week. Oswego's getting all the news coverage, but it's not even the worst in the area. (just the most recognizable, I guess.) One of the local ski areas actually shut down for a few days because of problems removing snow from around lifts and other equipment.

This is my 4th year of Winter riding, and has been the worst by far. It has been VERY difficult to stick to a normal riding schedule with the nastier than normal conditions, couple with other issues this winter. But still I get out when I can and decided not to sweat it when i can't.

We are in the home stretch now, and that is music to my ears.

I hit my burnout point about 3 years ago. At least I haven't had to do any shoveling so far this year. (knocks on head)

Tom, we're slated for a foot or so. Snow, per se, doesn't bother me, but it will probably kill 2 days of commuting...I don't ride if there is snow on the road. I don't trust slippin' and slidin' cars!

We have snow predicted for tonight but it really looks like the system is developing farther east and will miss us. It is cold though. Teens for lows the next two nights. The last two years spoiled me. Zero snow and only a handfull of nights below freezing. Compared to that this year has been *&%$.

what bugs me is just after the days start getting longer, they're increasing DST by 3 weeks. I'm anxious for some morning commutes with light not to mention warmer weather. wait a minute, or is it the other way around, I'll get more light? duh. whatever, I agree Tom, 100%.

Ah yes, Master Splinter.

The secret to winter is to embrace winter sports. Go skiing, skating, snowshoeing, snowboarding, even mountain biking. Just get out there and have fun.

Someone needs to invent a mountain bike with, like, 2 foot wide tires. They could be wimpy plastic like beach balls are made of. Think of the fun in a few feet of powder!

They do exist. The Surly Pugsley is an example. Not quite 2' tires but those are some wide tires.

We morning cyclists are probably the only people around that are bummed by this. These were my first thoughts when i first heard of the early DST change. Crap! Another lights season.
