    Pleasant discoveries

I was digging around in a box the other day and unearthed replacement pads for my helmet and a new pair of riding gloves (which I forgot I had ordered last year). Both will come in handy when the riding turns sweaty again.

For you, ahem, slightly underorganized Foosters, what nice finds among your stuff have you turned up recently? Anyone find any money?

Funny that you posted this. Yesterday we had a group ride in Denver. I was putting some bars in my saddlebag and I found $2dollars Nothing big but was happy I had that

I had a favorite pair of riding gloves a few years ago. Kept them in a friend's garage with the rest of my bike stuff over winter one year, and upon returning all my junk to my own place, discovered that the right glove was missing.

Well, fast forward to about 3 months ago. Guess what? I found the right glove! It was, oddly enough, in a box of homebrewing supplies in my attic.

During that time frame, I literally had the left glove over the garbage can 2 or 3 times thinking about tossing it.

Of course, ironically enough - in that same time frame, I switched from regular road bikes with drop bars to my TT/tri bike as my main ride, and I don't really ever use gloves on that unless it's cold.

I just found my favorite bright fishing flashlight in the pocket of my dress coat when I went with my GF to a dinner. I had it for a christmas night homes tour. I would never have thought to look for it there when striper season starts in the spring.

Instead of finding things when I dig through boxes I usually find that I don't have something I know should be there.

...I..I...don't know what to say. If you are serious that is more than just a pleasant discovery. That's a life altering bit of news, don't you think so?
Would you like a dream with that?

I had a pretty sweet story about the envelope with $11 in it that I found in my parka from last winter, but I think I'll just sit quietly now.
