I'm cheering for him to get punted into the the wall at turn one. So now all of America can hear what a whining POS he really is.

i'm not sure i am or not.

on the one hand i want him to be successful, on the other, if he's TOO successfull, it will just add to the stereotype people have that NASCAR is a walk in the park.

skill involved or not, NASCAR is much more exciting than F1.

Yeah personally I love it when people come out of other types of cars and do well in Nascar. Almendinger will probably be dangerous once he gets a car underneath him. If I had to make a choice of a Nascar or F-1 race to spectate, in person, I'd rather see Formula 1. Guess that's why I like bicycles, I'm just wired differently than the average American.

Really? Most of my friends are F1 fans and they weren't big fans of JPM then. Now is in the WWF of auto racing they don't even care. I thought he was a whiner in F1 and I doubt much will change now that he's in CrashCAR.

I certainlywould not put him in the whiner class that Villenueve is in.

I think that the move Montoya made to NASCAR will be good for the sport, the same said with toyota moving into NASCAR as well (and the single sponsored Red Bull team who now has a spot in just about every extreme or racing sport :-). I know i will have someone else to cheer for besides Jeff Gordon. I'm a huge F1 fan but at the same time just an all around anything that goes fast fan.

What are all us rednecks spose'd to do since they took our NASCAR and gave it to Toyota and Juan Pablo?

Seriously, I think this sport is heading for disaster. It's going to take most of these fans awhile to figure out they've been dooped (they aren't the brightest bunch), but eventually they'll figure out that they are a turd in a punch bowl.

Hard to say, If you put JPM in a Ferrari or Renault would things have been considerably different. I saw him when he was driving CART nee Champ Car and he certainly had no problems there, nor did Villenueve. Easier cars to drive or more equal to each other than the Formula 1 field? I think i've become a philosopher here

Same here with the possible exception of NHRA. Definitely will be good for NASCAR. Now if Schumacher takes up NASCAR'S invitation to test and comes to play I think we might have a horse race on our hands

JPM has said that driving a champcar was harder than F1. champcars are heavier and have less downforce than an F1 car, plus they are amost as fast. they have no power steering, and up until this season, drivers have always had to take one hand off the wheel to downshift. in most cases, your typical F1 driver is simply an overpriced pansy.

F-1 has no power steering either but both are very light in the front end so steering effort isn't too bad unless you are bouncing it off the curbing then it's a blister fest.

oh, but they do have power steering. and when you consider the effects of all that downforce, it's almost needed. but champcar doesn't allow it.

http://www.formula1.com/insight/rule...gs/14/494.html

edit: here's an interesting one:
http://www.machinedesign.com/ASP/str...tedArticle.asp
"Another application of note, says Jones, is power steering. Although F1 cars are light, they experience nearly 3 g of downforce at high speeds. They also have extreme steering geometries with large caster angles, which lifts or lowers the front end as the steering wheel turns. This makes the cars essentially undriveable without power steering."

crazy how small they can make that stuff.

He was in a competitive car abet a fragile one. Kimi had no problems leading, and at times dominating races. Had the McLaren stayed running I have little doubt Kimi would have at least one WC under his belt.
