Anyone know how or where to get the live webcast? Supposed to be a proper one, not just Youtube stuff.

I will be at work from now until after the 500pm showing. There is a rebroadcast at 1200midnight as well. Also, I tried the Cyclingtv and it does not sync with Quicktime on Apple. I really don't want to download mediaplayer.

I'm gonna have to miss it. No cable. And I only have dialup.

And the friend I thought I might watch it with bailed.

You deserve better, VV.

The cycling season is just starting. You still have a chance to catch the major races like the Giro de Italia and the Paris-Roubaix.

There is a text version. Of course, It's not as good as watching on TV. But, like a movie with subtitles once you get used to the reading and the rhythm it takes a life of it's own.

Sorry, things did not work out.

Thanks for your sympathy, baybuh.

Meh, as long as I can see Stage 5, the next TT. I have a friend who might, just MIGHT (dammit) tape it for me.

<pouty Vega lips>

I do hope to finally have cable Internet access soon. Don't think I'll go cable TV since I so seldom watch it anyway. Wish I could get that super highspeed DSL in my area....

You didn't miss much if you didn't see the Prologue. Half of the Versus program was pre-race-jaw-jacking and the last hour was a summary, mostly showing the starts and finish line crossings of the "big guns". I was sort of disappointed, but it probably would have been ok for the people who don't usually watch the racers in the pro peloton.

I hope the coming coverage is closer to what they did for the TdF (when they were still OLN).

I was disapointed with the coverage - granted, it was only a 1.9 mile course, but a split time at the end of the flat stretch or half way up Telegraph would have been interesting.

It didn't quit snowing here until late last night or early this morning. I'm hoping the roads will be pretty clear by the time I go for my ride later today. Today is supposed to be my rest day, took yesterday off instead though.

The kind of coverage I'd love to see is nice camera shots showing form and technique. Too often, cameras zoom in on faces and shoulders, with the occasional thigh and a$$ shot (which is ok with me, as I like men in Lycra), but none of that helps me to see how the pros are moving on the saddle, how they point their toes, etc. I mean, I watch pro tennis, not so much to see the game, but to pick a player with, say a killer backhand, and I focus on how that player strokes the ball, etc. Wish coverage of cycling could show so much. Seein' someone's face grimacin' while climbin' doesn't tell me anything I don't already know!

I hope I might have a chance to see the last stage since it'll be on 5-7pm, EST.

Bobke's lap dogs ticked me off when they started into how Donald's time HAD to be a a timekeeper error, since none of the big guns (until Levi) were able to touch it. I think a great addition to the usual crappy coverage would be Bobke rapping these guys up side the head whenever they say something stupid, or hell, just cuz.

I just finished watching the first stage. They show all of 5 seconds of an interview with Levi. Not exactly in depth coverage. Kind of disappointing in fact.

Meh. Even on pay-TV, which is what cable is, cycling just doesn't merit enough attention. <sad shrug>

At least you get to see it. If it comes on. Here, coverage starts at 11pm, EST. For those who have cable.
