Me!! ME!! ME!!, im a cyclist!!, mountain biker to be exact and I HATE people asking me to become a roadie!! Grr damn this people are annoying, I dont even know them and each time I see them they will tell me, 1 day is for mtb and the other is road. Geez, whats soo god freakin wrong with riding a Mountain Bike on the road, and their road bike weight is like 10-12kg... NO BIG DEAL, my Anthem weights that much. Sorry for the yelling, im just getting pissed of with some riders who just started riding at my housing area

My boyfriend is a Avid mountain biker he rides his bike on the road sometimes. Mostly cause our hills are covered with snow, yesterday he happened to meet up with me on a group ride I was doing. I just like the looks he gets for riding a singlespeed mtb up a road. Its quite entertaining

Don't let it get to you.

Just ride!!

Hmmmmm, someone is angry. I don't see anything wrong with riding a mtb on a road. Sure your not paranoid? I could care less if you ride a tricycle on the road as long as you are riding. Hey, you kids get of my bigwheel, I am tuning it for the TDF!

well I get pissed off, because I dont know who is he and why must he insist in me getting a road bike. Its soo annoying and he must tell me where to train and how. Geez, I dont want to be a racer, I love to ride, enjoy being adventurous. Thats all. End of story.

The roadies I know would never do that. What ever floats your boat. In fact some of my roadie friends are mtn bikers.

I think you worry too much what other people say. Who cares what they think or say?

Just say - thanks for your advice but I have other things on my mind right now.

However, if you are riding with them and holding them back - well, then they have a point.

I have ridden with roadies more than a few times. They have screamed at me when I was riding a MTB BDG - honest.

It was because I passed them like they had two flat tires.

your whole life will be filled with people telling you what you should and shouldn't do. the majority of these people know nothing about you. you'll have to learn how to deal with this eventually..

you're out riding on the road, who the heck cares what you ride unless you are endangering someone???
The only comment I have only heard or said myself was in a race when I felt bad for this guy on a mtn bike, it looked really heavy for a hilly race, I sure wouldnt of wanted to do that race on his bike!
I cannot belive people have the guts to scream mean things because you're minding your own business riding on the road, Ive heard it all!

BDG, There is this hill west of Denver called Lookout Mtn.

I wanted to ride it on my road bike with bf. He has only Singlespeed mtn bike. Well we were riding up and this older lady on a road bike came up to us and said "You know guy, your riding the wrong bike!!". My bf said nope, just riding with my girl all nice, well she got mad at him.

Sad yes, but it still happens.

me neither, as mean as some roadies can be, I cant picture them wanting to even give that much time of day to someone for riding a mtn bike, they will snob you ( the mean ones) and pretend you dont exist, i really cant picture them taking the time to scream out loud "HAHA loser on a mtn bike!!!"
makes no sense to me.
