What songs serve as a warning?

Sometimes one encounters a song, may not be a favorite, but their lyrics are notable enough to serve as a warning about something.

I'll start:

Funker Vogt, "Subspace". Hits hard especially with friends I have who spend lots of time on WoW and other MMOs.

Been in a S and G mood of late. Lyrics that keep running thru my mind this month is
"All I know." By Garfunkel. guess on the personal side of life.
Another tune about the greater world.
"America" by S and G.

Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys;

Those 1950's songs about terrible car crashes;

I've Sold My Heart to the Junkman;

Don't Worry About Strangers (keep your eye on your best friend).

The last two are old blues numbers. Bette Midler did a great Junkman on a recent album. Mildred Bailey's is the only recorded performance I know of Don't Worry but it's probably the best.

This song came to mind but all I could remember was the chorus, so I looked it up:

Harry Belafonte Get An Ugly Girl To Marry You Lyrics

Chorus:
If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife.
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

Chorus

A pretty woman makes her husband look small,
And very often causes his downfall.
As soon as he marries her, then she starts,
To do the things that will break his heart.

But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You'll be happy for the rest of your life.
An ugly woman cooks meals all the time,
She'll always give you peace of mind.

Chorus

Don't let your friends say you have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway.
Her face is ugly, her eyes don't match.
Take it from me, she's a better catch.

Chorus

Say, man?
Hey baby!
I saw your wife the other day.
Yeah?
Yeah, and she's sure is ugly. Ha!
Yeah, she's ugly, but she sure can cook, baby!
Yeah, alright.
Unfortunately, she has acne.*
That's a shame, baby.
Yeah, baby.

Chorus x3

*I still don't remember that line!

I was think of that song just the other day, then this one entered my mind

FIRST I LOOK AT THE PURSE
(Written by : Smokey Robinson / Robert Rodgers)

The Contours
J. Geils Band

Some fellas look at the eyes
Some fellas look at the nose
Some fellas look at the size
Some fellas look at the clothes
I don't care if her eyes are red
I don't care if her nose is long
I don't care if she's underfed
I don't care if her clothes are worn
First I look at the purse!
Some fellas like the smiles they wear
Some fellas like the legs that's all
Some fellas like the style of their hair
Want their waist to be small.
I don't care if their legs are thin
I don't care if their teeth are big
I don't care if their hair's a wig
Why waste time lookin' at the waistline?
First I look at the purse!
A woman can be fat as can be,
kisses sweet as honey
But that don't mean a thing to me
If you ain't got no money
If the purse is fat....that's where it's at.
Some fellas like the way they walk
The way they swing and sway
Some fellas like the way they talk
Dig the things they say.
I don't care if they wobble like a...
or talk with a lisp
I still think I'm a good lover
if the dollar bills are crisp
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
I don't care if you got yourself a wrap
all I want is your pretty green cash
Bought me a suit, bought me a car
Want me to look like a hollywood star
Money, (Money!) I want money (Money!)
Baby, ain't no "why", baby (Money!)
I need money!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!

"Paradise by the dashboard light"
Not actually the lyrics but a situation I blame on this song.
In 1983 I had this cranked up as loud as possible in my car and decided on having an illegal street race. I was caught by the cops doing 160kmh in a 70kmh zone. I never did that kind of sh1t again and never listened to the song again.
edit info...The green light came on right as "stop right there ... I gotta know right now" was screaming though my speakers.

I like to remember this when venturing into P & R I particularly like the warning that most protest are saying "Horray for our side"

[Originally by Buffalo Springfield]

"Everybody Look What's Going Down lyrics"

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

SNOW...uuhh...what is it good for?

ok, so that song doesn't exsist

I'd have to go with nine inch nails song "hurt", or if you like go for the johnny cash version (which IMO is far superior, he puts so much more soul into it).

A Racer's Saga...set to an old Kenny Rogers tune:

You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel

With four left hand corners and a sodded infield

I've turned some fast times, lived through some crashed times

But hittin' the wall just won't heal....

You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel.
