What is the oldest thing you own?

I have an 1857 penny. The back side has been worn off, so it's probably only worth a few dollars, but it's by far the oldest item I have. The next oldest thing is probably a coin from the 1930s.

I don't have any antiques.

How about you?

I have a computer from ancient Egypt. It is about 5000 years old. It only has 12Kb of RAM.

The story goes that Ramses II once said "who would ever need more than 12Kb or RAM?".

Besides old coins? I have a wrist watch that is a family airloom from the 1920s. I also have an old set of prison handcuffs from the turn of the century.

My SONY stereo system is from the mid 80s and still works and sounds great. Their stuff kicked *ss back then.

The first thing that I have is an old wooden chest its a couple hundred years old, the next thing is the baby ring my parents gave me when I was born, so not that old but old to me.

I've got a collection of water from all over the world. The collection is not that old but the H2O is.
I found a stone axe underneath my house during the renovations.

Ownership is an illusion!

Anyway, my pappy gave me a book on Euclidean geometry that was printed in the 1860s. And there's the partial spear points that are who knows how many thousands of years old.

That reminds me of one of my literature classes. Amid great fanfare, the professor awarded each student a small container of water drawn from Walden Pond. I think she went up there every few years and stocked up with a few gallons.

blonduathlongrl, have you ever posted pictures of your restaurant? I've not seen it.

Man, we used to go skinny-dipping in Walden Pond all the time when I lived in Massachussetts. Never seemed like we were gettin' our culture on...just our hormones.
