it's only good if it's green, like the frozen low-fat pistachio ice cream from carvel.

Vanilla Ice cream+pistachios=pistachio ice cream.

I had someone get some pics of me tasting it, but I look like I'm on death's door from being sick and somehow it looks like my eyes are going in different directions.

Never had the stuff myself, but I think botto is right, "traditional" pistachio is green with less chunkage.

Well it is greenish yellow, the ice cream that is. Tons of little chunks of pistachio. Yea, maybe I should try another brand.

I was at the store yesterday and decided to find out why siu can't resist the stuff. I must admit it's still a mystery.

Everytime I hear pistachio I think of the Naked Gun movie when Neilson ate all those and threw the hulls out the window and they piled up against the car door and he had red lips!

I thought only old men like my dad ate pistachio ice cream. You sure you're not 76years old, have to go to the bathroom a lot and got a perpetual case of gas!!

That's never stopped you from posting pics before.

So, what'dja do with the rest of it? Flush it down the ol' crapper? Or maybe bury it in the backyard? <curious Vega look> I mean, surely, if Jon can't stomach it, of all people, there's no one else gonna touch that stuff.

Haggen-Dazs? I thought the real deal was in Ben & Jerry's? You should try that, compare and report back.

Check the ingredients, Shad. B&J puts extra stuff in. HD, not so. More pure.

Haagen Daaz is run of the mill ice cream. The maker thought up an exotic name to make it seem exceptional. It aint exceptional.

Certainly not as good as hand-cranked homemade. But I'm lazy. And run-of-the-mill. And don't like anything in ice cream that doesn't belong. I do likes me my HD, but, then again, I don't eat very much of it, not very often. Sweets just aren't my thing. But spicy? Salty? That's another story.

Hmmm, I don't eat ice cream, so I'm unsure of the ingredients. But if HD is considered superior, so be it.

Bryer's makes the best pistachio ice cream IMO. Edy's is a good second place if Bryer's is not availible in plain Pistachio in your area.

H-D is good stuff, but IMO overrated.

The pics even scared me a little bit. Then I kind of whimpered. So I decided not too.

The rest of it went back in the freezer, for some other unsuspecting soul. Dun dun dun.....
