    We Won!!!

Some of you might remember that my son and I were building a pinewood derby car for cubscouts. Today we brought home the Championship Trophy. Thanks fooster for the help & advice! We got first in every race, except once we got second.

    Congrats!

I remember when my dad and I also participated in that race... many years ago.

Congrats. Car looks great. Take what you learned this year and write it down so you can apply it next year. The field is only going to get tougher and you're going to want to repeat next year!

    Great Job!

I built one of those in high school. It is powered by a CO2 cartridge? Did you use graphite on the axles?
Would you like a dream with that?

    Cool! Congrats!

Yeah. I used lots of graphite. I was really suprised. This was our first year and we upset some of the perennial winners. Even beat the pack leader's son who wins about every year. (he got second) Maybe the fact that i've spent thousands of hours messing with and riding two wheeled objects sorta paid off here.

Whew, doesn't that bring back memories.

The one year I did Pinewood Derby, I got knocked out in the first race.

I didn't expect anything better, so I just cheered for my den-mates who had a much better chance at winning.

My friend Jay ended up winning.

When they were giving out the trophies I admit I did feel a little down until suddenly they announce my name for the sportsmanship award. Who knew??

I think it's the only trophy I ever got for anything
