You wouldn't believe what happened to me...

I was at work on Monday and in a rush I turned around and almost ran into this man in my way. When I looked up I was stunned. This guy looked at me with the biggest smile on his face. He says hello. I was so shocked that I backed up into my display. I know I stood there in shock for a while.

It was MICH all the way from Michigan!!!

Since he knows my schedule he says to me that we are going to build up that bike tomorrow.

So we head off to this place that lets you use their space, stand and tools for free.

________________________________________________________________________________________

In the beginning

Stuff we had to put on

Tools they loaned us

Mich working

Finished bike

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Thank you, Mich. RILYA

That's a pretty bike.

One question: is that work space a former jail cell?

Just to let everyone know... That saddle on it now is the one USAZorro sent to me. There was a guy next to us that had a saddle that was mostly sponge exposed. It was a wet rainy day so Mich and I looked at each other and with the original saddle we "Paid it Forward" in the spirit of Bike Forums. He was very happy and grateful that he was given a saddle that didn't soak his pants.

Thank you again, Zorro!! ((hugs))

Great job! Beautiful bike! Thanks to Mich for helping her out!

Now, Siu, get in some good ridin' time before you go to CO. If anything doesn't feel right, or seems to be causing pain, post it, or call Bikingshearer to help you troubleshoot it. I'm sure Mich did a great first approximation for you, but only after riding can you tweak it and dial in everything just like you want it.

Have fun! Looking forward to roadridin' with ya!

Thank you everyone!! That was the coolest thing for Mich to show up like that. Oh...He went home with a young coconut, Shadiyah .

Thank you for the tip Vega. He said the same thing. We were going to get it all dialed in today but it was raining so hard, he had to carry it to the car for me. He knows how I am with my OCD and all......

That was so cool of him to come all that way to see you and help you! Awesome. Did you guys share a young coconut together? It is definitely an experience that is worth sharing with someone.

Guess I better get on the hunt for that roadie now. Don't want to get left behind.

I asked her if she got in a test ride, but obviously she said she didn't (d'oh) because of the california weather.

(picture of today's weather- note the heavy hail on the ground, siu asked me to post da pic)

Yes we did. But the one he had was a little older but we still enjoyed it. He really liked it, Shadiyah.

I was sooooooooooo surprised that he was standing there right in front of me. I can't believe he did that.

Bikingshearer and the folks from Classic and Vintage helped a lot. They offered lots of advice.

Thank you to all of you here on Foo who supported me through this. And for all your kind offers of tips and parts. Thank you for understanding my fear of *ahem* road bikes and putting up with me. You guys are awesome.

Geez, that's what I was thinking. How tall are you, anyway?

I've so been looking forward to seeing it done and it looks great . Say, you wouldn't happen to be bringing it to CO would you? I just happen to know a roadie around these parts... annnnd now that I've said that I'll have to duck the ballistic tomatoes .
