    life's cruel irony

    i tried to leave to go buy a bike today.....my car won't start.

    Have you tried socializing your car w/ the new bike on neutral territory? Bringing a new vehicle into the group out of the blue disturbs a lot of the social hierarchy and if your car is the alpha-vehicle, it may feel threatened and respond accordingly. Maybe try taking them to the park, first, to get to know eachother and establish a peaceful dominant/submissive role before taking the bike to "home turf."

    +1. As we all know, cars are pretty prejudiced against bikes in the first place. You can't just go out and buy one and expect your car to be ok with it. That's just flat out irresponsible. Have a good long discussion with your car first and make sure he/she is going to be okay. I had a bike before I got my car, and that was ok. Bikes are a bit more tolerant of other forms of transport. They understand. Cars need to be let down slowly.

    well my truck is just going to have to get used to it!

    i called the shop and gave them my credit card #. i finally got my truck started but now i won't be able to make to the lbs until next week dang it!!

    all my truck did was buy itself some time.

    i just thought of it, your new bike matches my gas hog. mine doesn't. guess i have to buy a matching truck now....and boat.
