I don't think that's fair. The number e doesn't get a day and that's just as cool a number as pi. Avagadro's number doesn't get a day. The gravitational constant doesn't get a day, nor does Plank's constant, or the rest mass of a photon. Why doesn't the rest mass of a photon get a day?

I think we should be calculating the circumference of bicycle wheels or something.

I think that you are all forgetting that March 14th is a much more important holiday.

I'd like to see a Holiday for LaGuerre's Polynomial Functions! Without them, we couldn't have digital images, or topographic maps, or fractals, or any way to measure slopes.......

Imagine the celebration one could have had on October 10, 1010.

I'm guessing the computer people then didn't appreciate the beauty of the day.

Speaking of Pi, this happened in Indiana! Hilarious!
http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a3_341.html

The scary thing is, it's true, I looked it up in the Indiana Congressional Record for the year and it's there!

Pie Round Up, cool!! Can we round up pie on our bikes or do we need horses? I can get a horse, but it will take me an hour or two.

I think you're required to have a horse or it's not technically a round up. Hey, "pi(e)" and "round". Get it? There are days when I'm very easily amused....

The digits of pi go on forever, but the number is of finite value. So take heart, my friend... the day will come to an end.

There's donuts at work today. I'm eating one now as I think about pi day.
