A present for Foo...

... and all the people in it, for being what it is, and what they are. A few timing issues and fudged notes, but Foo's got those, too. It's a recording of me playing with myself (cough) ... a Renaissance guitar duet called "La Rossignol" (The Nightingale), by the hugely prolific and long-lived composer "Anon".

La Rossignol (1.9 MB MP3 ... hope it's not too big, VV)

Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for being Foo.

Not bad, Goobs! Not bad at all!

(I suspect that you are your own worst critic!)

Glad you all liked it... and yes, Tom, each fudged note and timing issue is likely little knives stabbing into my ears.

I've also just realised that my one-year Bikeforums anniversary is tomorrow! I don't know if this piece is celebratory enough for that, though...

Thanks!
Here's another one in a slightly different vein — Antonio Lauro's Vals Venezolano No. 2 (somewhat abridged... I couldn't be bothered with the repeats) (694KB MP3).

What, that I've been here? Nope, definitely just a year, though I can see how I might have caused enough pain and suffering for two

Wow Goobers those pieces are VERY nice. I would love to hear you play more for us!! Thank you for the gift to Foo.

Wasn't it you that posted a pic of you playing for Grandma? I remember the look on her face and now it seems so right to hear your playing style.

Beautiful, Goobers, absolutely beautiful Thank you so much.

What formats can you open? (For music?) I can audio record in PCM and convert to windows Format, for example.

Yes, I did post pictures of me playing for my grandmother at her 100th birthday party. I'll try to record some more, but have to practice first...

Tom: I can convert to/from pretty much any audio format -- PCM, AIFF, WAV, and MP3 should all work

Cool, Lets think about a musical meeting of the minds then!

wow.. very nice. . clean & polished -like Segovia! ..It took a lot of 'proper' technique and practice, no? I've always been thoroughly amazed with the classical and solo jazz guitarists -- playing melody, chords and bass lines together in unison, its really inspiring. btw, you recorded this in a studio? what kind of classical guitar do you have & how much? (not that I know that much about classical guitars but... -except that they can be very/ the most expensive!)

Not sure the Segovia comparison is deserved, but I like it!

It was not recorded in a studio ... Believe it or not, I recorded it in my living room with the built-in mic on my laptop!

The guitar is an Almansa 402. I spent 420 Canadian dollars a few years back for it. It's a nice guitar -- fun to play -- but is meant as a student instrument. Nothing too fancy, but solid.

That's a right nice flat top box ya got there Goobs!

Out of the five 6-strings I have, my favorite is a factory second Martin-Sigma Folk guitar, model escapes me.
So easy to play and sounds so nice. Only $30 at an auction.
