Currently building a better version of this, I just need to source a rear shock. I found a Noleen on Ubuy that I might get.

Please plug your bar ends. I'm just imagining how painful it would be to have that go into your thigh if you crash.
Edit: other than that, a nice looking conversion. :)

Thanks. I've been deciding whether to do a flop and chop on the bars so I have not gotten around to plugging or wrapping them yet.

Nice pix; where in Colorado were they taken? So do you find it's handy being an RN so you can work on yourself after mtbr? :D

Since the last time I posted these:

New wheels, seatpost, stem, bars, tires. Fits better now. Not really liking the tape, but oh well.

Slightly larger tires so the fenders had to go. Put on a Nitto Dirtdrop stem.

Neither get ridden as much as they should.

Nice. Every time I see a Pompino I kick myself in the ass for not being a bit more patient and saving my money up for a bit longer.

EDIT: By the way, why the headtube extension?

I decided to not do the harlequin pattern on my bars so I just decided to wrap them with red tape. I personally like them this way. I think the background is fitting. My trusty steed:

That's for roadbikes. For fixies, it's graffiti or murals.

Ben's via ebay for $40. Looks like they have a couple up right now in varying lengths and clamp diameters.

Thanks 'splody. Don't listen to jsharr. You are good for something sometimes.

Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day.

Yes, it is. I did ride her with a freewheel for some time but, now I'm riding her the way she was meant to be ridden and I love it.

Thanks for the compliments Ritehsedad.

jyossarian 05-14-07 01:42 PM

You ride a fixie w/ a rear brake? Is that out of habit or do you flip flop the wheel alot?

Well, I did ride her with a freewheel but, now she's fixed. I've been getting used to riding it fixed which makes me happy. Currently, I'm trying to teach myself how to skid/skip so I can get rid of the rear brake. I get so much talk from other fixed gear riders like "why do you ride your bike with a rear brake?" or I would just get weird looks from them. *shrugs* In due time, I say.

jyossarian 05-14-07 02:22 PM

Skipping's not too hard. Just lean forward and jump a little to unweight the back so the rear wheel lifts up a little. After a while, you'll be able to skip while seated.
