How have I never put my bike in here?

2000 Trek 1000 (I'll take a nicer pro-quality shot later):

Been riding this many miles recently ... Challenge Hurricane recumbent. Love it!
My basket set-up solved a real practical problem. It's a Wald basket made to hang off front handlebars but it works great on that suspended back ...

Got the new tyres and the 4 speed block installed today... did not have time to re-wrap the bars.

She's a fabulous ride at 51 years old.

Sweet bent. It is always nice to see another recumbent amongst all these upwrongs.

Awesome pics, Henri! Air's sturdy (now fast) ride can get through any street challenge. You can really see the geometry difference in the Litespeed/Bianchi and The Merlin...

The Merlin's an all out performance design...makes me want to take mine out before I drop the required last 15# but I just can't...

The post is about as far out as it safely can be, and with a slalom/4x bike the only reason there is a saddle and seatpost is for control of the bike.

Ummm, yeah...I knew that.

It's just fun to see how sensitive some folks are about that.

It sure is Alpine.

2008 is the first year Specialized has produced a 29. All former comments by them about 29's aside, they produce a pretty sweet ride and design a great frame.

How else are you supposed to carry plastic sacks of crap while riding?

I put the barends there to support my hands that reach for the barend position after riding for a while.

Multiple hand positions is a good thing for hand fatigue, especially for an aging carpenter trying to stave off the arthritis that a life full of mutilating the carcasses of trees is the only just reward.
