There's an eye opener for ya... The angle grinder was just too friggin' much.

I don't know, though--there's some mean characters in NYC, and I don't know that I'd feel like risking my life for someone else's bike, nor would I necessarily expect that of anyone to protect MY bike.

Worth repeating for those who haven't seen it though.

Yeah, that's pretty depressing stuff. I'm so lucky I don't have to contend with the crap you all do. The bastiges.

NYC no thank you. It's funny I was just talking to Stacey this morning before I seen the video about how easy a bike could be stolen in NY, and no one would see them doing it. That is sad.

It's not just New York. I doubt that it would have been any different in Toronto or any other large city. People seem to be too absorbed with their own life to worry about a stolen bike.

It was definitely an eye opener though. I went out and bought the "Bull Dog" lock shortly after seeing that video. Just a coincidence though. I now lock up at work with the Bull Dog and a 6 foot cable lock to wrap the wheels to the frame and stand. Now the weak link is the bike stand itself. If they really want to get your bike they will.

Extremely crowded, full of criminals, and I hate big cities. Take Chicago, that place bores me to tears. NYC is like Chicago x 15.

Thing is, I can understand why people don't confront him. Few have the authority/capability of handling all possibilities of how the guy might react. It's sad that people don't seem to care at all, I honestly don't know what I'd do in that situation because when you confront the guy, what's to stop him just saying he lost his key or some crap? Or worse?

Nope. Wow, I never imagined anyone could have that for a last name. Pretty cool.
