I'd rather mesure my guads and drope my hamer than ride my bike.

Vista seems like a "Did it because we couldn't think of anything else better" type of upgrade.

It asks me for permission to do something every 5 seconds. (roughly)

I wouldn't mind it asking, but it interrupts the flow of the internets.

I'd rather cover my scrotum with icy hot and bengay then listen to 4 minutes of soul, opera, or smooth jazz.

Why upgrade to vista so soon? The problem with early adoption, is that you get to find the bugs. Besides, if you wanted the extra features of Vista, you shoulda got a Mac.

For the record, I'd rather be using *nix.

I find this very suspicious. You're in Montana, and there are no Apple retail stores there or Corporate offices that I know of; and I know very little.

So you are either in direct sales, or really work for the NSA. Good job on blowing your cover.

Vista will get better, once developers start having their programs start actually using the HKCU hive of the registry rather than HKLM.

I'm not running Vista [1], but if I were, I'd just disable UAC until I have all my programs installed, then enable it, so if something does ask for permissions, its less of a false alarm.

[1]: I do plan to upgrade to Longhorn server when its released. No worries about 32 or 64 bit versions there... you get whatever version you like, as long as its 64 bit.
