    Oh great...

I seem to have some sort of throat infection, probably tonsils. I've had Tonsillitis before and whatever this is, it's not NEARLY as bad. Basically, I have a nice sore throat and I'm coughing up things not from this world, but I feel just fine. Even so, I hate sore throats. Any recommendations?

Gargle with hot salt water. Then Listerine. But let the listerine "settle" on the sore spot, so to speak.

If it is tonsils, agree on hot salt water gargle. I also find that if I chew up an aspirin and swallow it, it seems to lessen pain. If you are coughing things up though, sounds more like a sinus infection causing drainage and pain. Either way, antibiotics may be in order.

Hit your fingers with a hammer. You'll no longer notice the sore throat.

Whiskey works pretty well to numb your throat also. Don't do this while your driving though. The police might not like it.

It is not wheels, it is one wheel. it is rusty and it squeaks loudly as the mouse runs on it.

All I can say is I know how you feel. I started my second course of antibiotics this morning for the sinus infection from he!!. I won't go into all the gory details, but the symptoms sound rather similar to the OP's description.
Antibiotics are probably in your future.
